Hamilton Island and the ferry.

After Dee arrived from America and she spend a day catching up on sleep we set off for Brisbane to my son and daughter in law place, the next day the four of us flew up to Hamilton  Island for our Barrier reef adventure, the moto for  Queensland  it "beautiful one day perfect the next" but no one told the weather.
We landed on the island a very short runway a bit harry but we got down safely.

As you can see a bit damp.
But still a beautiful place
We caught the ferry to Airley beach we do look a bit grumpy

Thinking of buying this boat when I win the lottery.
Look calm sea
not so calm sea, it was rough and my tummy was not happy,  it didn't worry Dee or the others much.

More rain

Arrived at our hotel looked like clearer weather
Then the wind started
and got worst but this was only the first day
There is always tomorrow, will fill you in on what happened next.

  1. Oh wow, what a shame the weather did not cooperate with your vacation. It looks like a beautiful place to visit. The photos are great even with the wind and rain. I hope it gets better! Have a happy day!

...ah but I observe shorts and sleeveless attire... so it was WARM rain, unlike the icicles I was out in yesterday!! But seriously, I know QLD and it's tropical bluster well enough to know it was probably also quite cool. Still, made for a lovely dramatic shot with that foam coming over the side...

Great to see you back Merle! YAM xx

    1. Dee is from America so she was happy with the warmth but it does get very humid with the rain.
