This is Drumc
This is Drumstick new friend Wing Commander, is the word our we are the home for lost chickens.
We were having a cuppa in the back yard when a chicken followed Drumstick in from the driveway the beer fairy went a strange colour and said am I seeing double there are two of them they are very alike, could be sisters, she is still here tonight when I closed the gate so she looks like she is moving in.
Next door is now at lock up stage they have a front door windows and a garage door and a lot of mess in the front yard.
This is Wing commander.
and this is Drumstick, I think she is a bit fatter than the Wing.
I love that Drumstick invited a friend home. There is certainly an invisible sign on our door which says 'cat suckers live here'. Perhaps you have one which says 'Any chook is welcome'?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if they do know each other and Drummy invited her.
DeleteThe guy up the back had chickens and a rooster and they went we thought he ate them but maybe they all moved out but now I'm keeping the side gate shut.
Merle.............
...Merle, I think this is so funny... fancy having another chook wander into your yard... I hope two chooks don't ruin your garden...hope she gives you some eggs too....hope the other residents don't start multiplying too

They are moving into the clothes line area, we are having Angus for a week in May or June so I need it organised by then.

ReplyDeleteThe cluck has gone out, the Drum has been banged... best place in town!! Wing does look as if may have been underfed which could be a clue as to why she arrived. They both appear to have had their beaks trimmed so could have indeed been from the same original home. They are super lucky to have you! YAM xx
You could be right about that.

Rent must be cheep at your place.
ReplyDeleteJust a few eggs will do it.
DeleteMerle.......
Words got out about the restaurant you run.

That was our lovely Gargye, she passed away a few years ago, she came to live with us when we had 3 dogs {they were very old dogs} but she was the boss.

Nice psychedelic background Merle!
ReplyDeleteSo have you adopted Wing Commander as well? Drumstick must like to have a friend. I marvel that you have chickens (in the suburbs?) considering we cannot have them on this island! I am not sure however that Mac the corgi would take to them too well even if we could!
Hugs to Angus!
We will have to lock them up when Angus comes to visit.
DeleteHe likes his alone time and get cranky if he is annoyed too much.
Merle.........
Haha, too funny! Wing Commander obviously heard around town that your place is THE place to be:)
ReplyDeleteYou are right it is pretty funny, hope there is no more.
ReplyDeleteMerle.........
Me too.

Merle,
ReplyDeleteYou have a new visitor! Drumstick has a new friend and I bet that makes her so happy.
I really like your new blog design. It's so cheerful and pretty. You know, I've heard that orange is the happiest color, and I think that's true. Great job picking this one out. Me and the girls change ours every year, so around May we will get a new one too.
Have a good rest of the week.
Love,
~Sheri
This is too funny - word gets around, it seems, when the livin' is good. Hoping you get lots of omelets out of this little adventure! Love your new blog design - it's so bright and happy. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI get a egg a day from Drummy, Wingie has not laid any eggs yet.
DeleteMerle.........
Two chickens now! You and the beer fairy can each have an egg for breakfast now.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine looking house next door, I hope they make at least a little bit of garden when they move in.
The beer fairy has got to watch his egg intake he has heart problems.
DeleteMerle.......
Better be careful. Might be accused of being a chicken thief. Haha
ReplyDeleteI wish a chicen would wander in my yard. I want fresh eggs in the morning. That's so cute as they are certainly the same breed.
That is so funny being a chicken thief, I never knew how strong minded a chicken was if they didn't like a place I would imagine they would leave if they could.
DeleteMerle........
Blessing on your sweet home!
