On the day before we came home we drove down to Surfers Paradise.
There are a lot of buildings, a lot of sand and pretty good surf and thats about it oh I forgot lots of people.
But now I can say I've been there.
Back at my sons place, this was my room I had lots of American football posters for he has always been interested in it. I just do not understand it very well but I don't know much about our Aussie rules football and prefer to watch it on TV as they tell you what's going on otherwise I'm at a loss to what's happening most of the time.
My daughter in law made this pillow, she has just got a sewing machine and I was showing her how to use it.
They have nice big rooms with lots of windows.
And lots of bits are a giving it a homely touch.
Dee smoking area, she had to smoke outside at my place too but she even smokes outside at her place too in the snow now that would be tough, even as a reformed smoker I have a under cover area for when it rains for the beer fairy to smoke in, nasty habit glad i gave it up.

And the cats, there are a few, this is their sleeping and eating area.
Some little craft projects.
Well I been home now for a week and a bit so this is the last post about my holiday.
I awoke this morning to the smell of bushfires, thinking the house was on fire I had a good look around and couldn't find any thing am...
Love the home - full of interesting bits and pieces. And I am a sucker for the cats. You can keep Surfer's and the football though...

Looks like a very nice time away, Merle. The beach looks much like a Florida beach. Your son and daughter -in- law's place is very artsy and comfortable looking. Love all the cat art and murals and the real cats look quite cozy in their own shady place. xo Karen

Nice place and great cat accommodation. When I saw Brisbane and the cats, I thought you may have taken yours with you. I don't think I could sleep in a bedroom with all those testosterone filled footballers on the walls......well, maybe I could ;-)

Yes, welcome back. We've missed drumstick, too. As another reformed smoker, I hope she abandons smoking some day. I took it outside, too, fifteen years ago, and rain and snow still didn't stop me. In the end it was the cost.

Your son's home is lovely, I like the tree on the TV wall and I love the cat statues. The sleeping and eating area just for cats is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe cats are happy in their area they all get on well, we have the two who didn't like the others, all my cats fight but we a large area so they don't have to talk to each other if they don't want to.
