Everyone round here produces masses of flowers but for some reason I don't and I love these yellow flowers.
Here are my broms they have all came from Barbs place so the do well in the cooler weather but it will show you, Joe what I have.
My fruit tree has flowers so I will find out what it is someone threw a seed out the window and it just grew and because it's so narrow down the side of the house no one goes there, it's done well.
My bathroom need painting, this very expensive mould free paint but they didn't say anything about peeling paint and it was painted a while back.
While Angus was visiting I worked on his picture but his tail is hard to get right .
But that is his face.
Hooray for daffodils. I love your bromeliads (which are doing much better than mine). I hope you can con the beer fairly. Ladder balancing is not my favourite past-time either.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am in awe at your painting. Wow. Repeated several times - and that plume of a tail looks pretty good to me...
I'm not to bad at ladder balancing it's the leaving the ground I don't like.
DeleteThank you I'm glad you like my painting.
Merle.......
Oh Merle! So happy for your lovely daffodil! Hope many more spring up.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bathroom painting project.
Merle, Merle, Merle! Your painting is most beautiful! I just LOVE it. SOoooo talented you are! Seriously! Great job. Susan
No more daffodils, only one.
DeleteMerle...........
I think you have the tail right! Have you considered painting directly ON the walls in your bathroom? I think you'd do awesome.
ReplyDeleteI once had mushrooms painted on the walls in my kitchen.

ReplyDeleteOh daffodils are always so happy somehow - congrats on the first!!
I love your painting Merle! No mistaking that is Angus. I adore the 'chintzy' feel of your work.
Oh dear - roof painting? Ugh. Hope himself is compliant! YAM xx
Thank you I'm putting this one in my loungeroom when I get the beer fairy to cut the frame for me, I'm not good at measuring or cutting straight.

Hooray for the first daffodil! I thought I could never plant any because the scent affects me, but elephant's Child has a hoop daffodil, pretty little thing, and she assures me it has no scent, so I have added hoops to my list of bulbs to buy for next year.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is really lovely, you've captured Angus well. I imagine tails are as hard to paint as hands or fingers.
I didn't know daffodils smelt but my yard is full of jasmine and that's overpowering and you can't smell anything else.
DeleteI surpose they are like hands and fingers and they are very hard to paint.
Merle...........
How fortunate for you to have a daffodil in bloom. I'm learning new things about you. I didn't know you were an artist and such a talented one at that. It's a lovely painting.
ReplyDeleteI did art at school but never had time to sit and do much till now,it's very relaxing when things go right not so when they don't.
DeleteMerle.......
I get excited when I see the first daffodils of spring pushing their way through the snow,so I understand how happy your daffodil makes you!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Only one flower but I'm excited.
DeleteMerle.....
I really like your picture but yes the tail is a bit too fox like.
ReplyDeleteHe's a foxy dog well tries to be.
DeleteMerle.....
You are very talented! Have a few beers and paint a mural on that ceiling!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a few beers and paint the ceiling, the mural would be modern art.
DeleteMerle......
That painting of the garden and the dog is wonderful. Does spring arrive a little early in your corner?
ReplyDeleteSpring is very early this year, we had some very cold days in winter but they didn't last very long.
ReplyDeleteMerle......
We've got daffs and fruit blossoms too!
ReplyDeleteI love Spring :-)
Your painting is great..I think Angus' tail looks fine.
Have you ever thought of illustrating a childs book, Merle?
I reckon you'd be brilliant at it!
love..Trish
How about you and Barb write the book and I will do the illustrations we might have a best seller on our hands, something about animals would be good, what do you think.
DeleteMerle...............
.
Your painting is gorgeous. I always wished I had that talent, but unfortunately I do not. I can write, though :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could write, sometimes I'm witty most of the time I'm lost for something to say thats why I have so many pictures.

WOW!!! I love your work!!! Your colors are outstanding!!! And I am so happy that you dropped by so that I can follow along with you!!! Congrats on your blooms...daffodils are the best! Such a happy flower in their bright simplicity!!! And you gave me a chuckle with the seed being thrown out the window! Lovely blog here!!! Nicole
ReplyDeleteI love your portrait of Angus! It really captures his sweet expressive face! Amazing that you can grow Bromeliads outside. Here they are sold as houseplants. So nice to have a daffodil - they are so cheerful. My Dad had an apple tree that grew that way - a seed thrown out the window. It will be fun to see if it sets fruit. Hope you get that ceiling painted. You might have to resort to bribery. Works for me. :) xo
ReplyDeleteMerle...I didn't know you were a painter!! this is just beautiful. Please show us more of your work! Wow!
