Baby it's cold outside so I'm not going out.

How to take a unflattering picture, get up drink coffee and sit on the computer you are bound to get company if you stay there long enough as you can see plenty of sun but not much warmth.
Leroy would rather sit by the fire or on a warm bed but as I've done nothing this morning and she is not happy to sleep in a unmade bed it must be made, I think because in the past she gets all warm and comfortable and I come along and make the bed.

My son and daughter in law are visiting for a couple of days so today they are cooking breakfast as you can see my kitchen is tiny, my laundry is bigger.
So I'm taking pictures as there is no room for me in the kitchen, these came from Holland bet that was a surprise, they are very cute.
this a fancy toilet roll holder from my sons place
and my boats in a bottle, my eye drops live on the hole in the marble, always easy to find perfect spot.
My daughter in law made this I might have shown this before, they are not cobwebs in the left hand corner i just checked I have no idea what that is.

 this was once a clock.

the ice cream doll got a new hat, she needs a jumper , she must be cold.
 her summer hat
 a place for umbrellas.

 people we have known
 my butterflies
If I ever have a grand daughter I'm ready but if it's boy maybe some changes, we have a big burley construction worker who often stays overnight in this room when he works late, he likes the bed it's very comfortable, he is usually referred to on this blog as Bo Peep by the way he still hasn't found his sheep well not all of them but that's another story.
Breakfast is ready now so I off to eat, bye for now.

  1. A happy kitty indeed and any little girl would love to sleep in such a room.
Cold did you say? We have record highs on the coast for the moment and resolved to make do with the A/C (I hate the sound but it is welcomed none the less when you have a double coat like Mac!)
    All the best,

Say hello to Mac, Angus suffers in the heat too but I would like his coat in the cold.

  2. Chilly here too today. Minus four overnight, perhaps reaching double fingers today. It is sunny though - which is lovely.

    1. We had a couple of hours of wonderful sunshine but gone now, but we might get some rain which we need, but we are not as cold as where you are.
It's great to collect things as you live your life, but like things with a story I have many more and will show you as the winter goes on.

    1. Hi Trish,
The beer fairy was up your way a couple of weeks ago, in his home town he was glad to come home he was very cold but he said is was lovely and green so you had rain we are very dry here.
A woodfire is good, ours has been lit every night this month, lots of wood, we had two new houses been built on our block so we got lots of leftover wood and fences.
Are we getting older or is the winter colder this year.

  6. I love your house as much as I love your garden. There's so much colour and so much to see. Your bed looks huge! All those pillows and Leroy, yet there is still plenty of room!
Nice to have visitors cook breakfast for you.
The air is cold here too, but there is a patch of sunshine by the front door, Angel is lying in it so I can't close the door to get it warmer inside.

    1. You will most likely see more of my house this winter as I will spend more time inside.
I do like lots of pillows as I make them all out of old bed pillows so I can have as many as I like but I now have feather ones so they will never be cut open can you imagine the mess.
      No you can't disturb Angel.

  10. Hello Merle...Oh, your room for a future granddaughter is so darling! I'm sure the breakfast was yummy. Where is your daughter-in-law from? Does she cook in the style of her native country? That would be great. So funny that it's winter there and summer here. Life is amazing, isn't it? Take care. Susan

I really like these pictures of you and your cat, they're sweet. I always enjoy seeing pictures of your dolls. They bring back such nice memories of my own childhood. That picture that was once a clock is really cute too.

I love cold days, brrrrr.....enjoy your cup of coffee Merle, and say hello to Leroy for me. :~)

    1. Leroy looks a bit upset she doesn't like cuddles much but she is very warm.
They are my daughters dolls, she grew too old for them but I only had two dolls when i was a child one I loved and one I didn't like so my parents thought I didn't like dolls much so they didn't get me many but all our friends went overboard with my daughter so had lots most I still have.

  12. So glad you get a visit and someone else to cook for a time. I like your new toilet paper holder - I suppose it doesn't go with their overall theme, but you're eclectic so yay! :)

    1. Was there a overall theme, decorated houses that are modern and correct in what goes where always look like showrooms to me.
The beer fairy cooks about 3 times a week some things are a bit odd but most meals are pretty good.
