Getting the garden ready for winter with Angus.

Winter is coming the garden needs a bit of a reshuffle, I am repotting some bromiliads ( not sure how to spell that) that my friend gave me these are a lovely colour.

This fellow was growing out the bottom of the pot so he got a new home too.

This one sits on my table, pretty blue berries.

Pidge has a new water bowl but he doesn't like it it's plastic and he has always had glass but the visitors keep knocking it over so he has claimed the birdbath in the garden for his own but hasn't mastered how to drink out of it without getting his feet wet not a happy chap at all.

Angus is a beautiful fellow, he is helping me in the garden today.

The days are shorter and not as warm.

Angus standing guard over Pidges cage well it's not really a cage as it all open and pidge doesn't live there, he lives  under the eves in the back of the house in a spot he selected but we still keep his food there.

Some food here not much but I will eat it anyway, I must have dropped some of my lunch, Angus is good at cleaning up.

New plants just planted.

"Hey must be time for a snack" he looks like that is what he is saying.

Dark patches in the garden now.

Only a few flowers now.

It's getting dark and cool time to go inside now.

  8. Hello Merle...

Thank you so much for all your sweet visits to my blog.

Oh, your garden looks so lovely.

Isn't it funny how just as we here, in western Massachusetts, are getting ready for spring, you are preparing for winter? Amazing.

Gargy is a dear. Handsome, handsome kitty. So serious!

And your photos, Merle? BEAUTIFUL! Is that your new camera? Oh, you are doing a fine job!

Hope your weekend is good. Susan

  9. Oooh. I do like your garden - thank you so much for the tour. I am in the throes of getting ours ready for spring. Much weeding, and planting of spring bulbs. Angus looks to be a sweetie, but Gargy has won my heart.

    2. I am so sorry. They wind their paws into our heart strings and take a piece of us with them when they leave.

  10. Hi Merle! your garden is wonderful! my yard is mostly grass except for a few spots around the house...we are working on it but we don't have green thumbs...lol! I love the pics and angus is a sweetie pie. Spring has finally arrived here but I wish we were still in winter. I don't like summer and all the heat especially since I have more staining to do this year...ugh! Well friend, have a great day! Hugs Jennfer
