Looking up and a old school get together.

The days are getting longer, it was a cold and windy day and all the cloudy had blown away just before it set and we watched this soft yellow settle on the distant trees, it didn't last long but I captured it just before the light disappeared.

Off today for lunch at Parramatta, I'm meeting some old school chums, it's been a long time, some of these people I haven't seen for 45years, now that's a long time.

A couple pictures of Parramatta river, I was a bit early also picked up  a new pair of shoes a lot of sales at the moment.

Well here we are all chatting about things that happened many years ago and what our life is like now.   It was a long lunch took up most of the afternoon but so much fun like a visit down memory lane.

It's a lovely clear morning and my trees are just breaking into new leaves a bit early so of the old ones are still there, we haven't finished winter yet, but spring is impatient this year.

THE BEST OF RENO'S AND THE WORST OF RENO'S

It's a good day for walking and I'm off to visit a friend. It involves a 2klm walk to the station a 20mt train ride and a 1klm walk at the other end so I'm taking my camera and will show you some houses along the way.

This is one of my favourite houses in the area, they extended about 15 years ago but it all suits, a lot of the extensions look like a bit stuck on the top or out the back, the house is old and they have kept all the original features.

I never seen one as bad as this it seems to be in process but it's been in process for a while now, they are always adding bits and each bit makes it worse maybe they have a plan in mind and I just haven't seen it yet.

This little fellow has always been here never changes never seen anyone here always looks unloved and alone.

 Even the garden looks the same a bit wild and uncared for but I do kind of like it.

 There are lots of units close to the station but I like the fact they have lots of land around them, places for the kids to play.

 And lots of trees.

We have lots of storm water canals not the prettiest of places but we don't ever have floods so they do work.

 This guy was digging out his palm tree and his neighbour was helping him by giving directions we all have one of those but he was a real character so I stopped for a chat, it was getting hot and I talk to everyone these days no time restrictions any more, I think he needs a rest too.

 He pointed out this flower said people were always stopping to take pictures of so I did the same, it's a beauty.

 Well finished my train trip now another short walk to my friends place

Always liked this house on a sunny day when it's overcast it not so nice.

 This tree is pretty good but the flowers are falling it would have been wonderful a couple of weeks ago great winter colour.

 Bird of paradise always looks bright and happy, lot of old two story terrace houses around here.

 Well I'm here now

Just look at that sky not a cloud anywhere and it's nearly time for lunch and boy I'm hungary, we are having home made pumpkin and potato soup and rolls an she's a pretty good soup maker.

It was a quiet week but great weather.

 Mal's ears were cold so we tried to put a hat on but she is not too keen maybe the colour doesn't suit.

 This is Who but she doesn't care.

 She wasn't concerned even when Angus come close for a kiss.

 But this is lazy, I now know how to make the bed with her asleep on it she just curled up in a ball and stayed there while everything got moved and straightened all around her, what a life.

 It was so warm this week I moved my ferns out of the sun, I don't have much luck with ferns these are all newish but we are still in winter but it is almost like spring at the moment maybe a hot summer coming up.

I planted this rosemary bush, one of my neighbours pulled it out to put up a new fence so he gave me the stumps, it was a huge bush so we cut it back and replanted it hope it takes off.

 And my frangapanny (lets face it I just can't spell ) had rotted a branch off so that got trimmed up and replanted too.

 And a new rose why this picture has a corner missing is anyones guess.

 Have I ever shown you this before.

 or my little wheel barrow, my son made this out of fence palings.

 Another rosemary plant if they all take I will have the stuff growing out of my ears.

 No herbs have died so far thats pretty good.

Look at that lemon or lime flower buds, last year the tree had a lot of flowers and produced two little green lemons, I waited for weeks for them to ripen but they never did so I was entertaining the idea that it might be a lime tree not a lemon.

I'm not sure what this is but it was my effort to try and build a fence out of bamboo.
