Just little bits.

It's been a couple of weeks and our part of the world is still in danger the fires are now huge and we haven't had any rain and very hot conditions so there is no good news, I hope we get rain soon but it is not all bad our neighbour who is away overseas, his water plant is flowering so i took a picture to show him when he gets home.
This is the very tiny praying mantis I have ever seen, he sat on my hand for a while then climbed on a black pot  so he was easier to take a photo of.

Tom  Tom is asleep on the pillows you have to look hard he is hard to see.
This is my grand daughter some days are so hot and smoky it's hard to go outside for long so I sit and draw the day away.

  1. I have been watching the reports of the fires in horror.
We are in a shroud of smoke here today. Yesterday morning I could barely see across the road at 8am.
Love your drawing, and the tiny mantis.
I do hope the heat/fires come to an end. Soon.

it is terrible, the amount of heat and flame you've all had already. Wouldn't have been good for my asthma at all. Perhaps living in the Bonny Land's wet and windy is nae sae bad after a'!! Drawing practice is always good though... YAM xx

  4. I hope you are safe from the fires Merle. I haven't seen a praying mantis here for quite a while, I did see what looked like a tiny new grasshopper yesterday, but I was watering in the early part of the day so didn't have my camera with me.

  6. I think the drawing of your granddaughter is very good. Yes, can see Tom Tom he is awake, ready for his photo shoot. It might be just a very young praying mantis. I haven't seen one that small. Stay cool and keep drawing.

  7. I have been watching your weather and thought about you. It has been a dry, hot season for you and I think it said that you broke heat records this week. Scary, really.

I haven't seen a real praying mantis in years around here...and your grandgirl is adorable! Nice drawing! xo Diana

  9. Dear Merle, the images of the bush fires shown on the news are horrific. I complain about our everlasting rain and gloom but it is nothing compared to what you are experiencing. I add to the other bloggers comments, keep safe and keep as cool as you can. A happy drawing of your grand-daughter!
