A week of sunshine and lots of spilt paint.

Late in the afternoon the sun was low and shining on a plastic disk it's not even clean, it hangs off my wind chimes, you would think it was a mirror by the reflection that it produced.

Yesterday was a day of mishaps I painted my back step and dropped the paint, it was stored in a glass jar so it broke, the beer fairy was very wise and told me that is why they sell paint in cans so if you drop them they will not break.
But I also managed to knock over a can of red enamel while painting the back gate, he made no comment about that, very wise on his part.

My painting shoes have a few new colours.
But this little garden worked out well, so the day wasn't a total loss.

Today was wonderful this morning Mal has a favourite chair in to sun most mornings you will find her here dozing the morning away.
But Who likes the shade and is often hard to find the twins are as different as chalk and cheese.
Would you believe this is a truck tyre and it's just had a haircut.
I don't know what this is growing happily with my cuttings, I will soon find out what colour they are.

And even the lemon tree has flowers maybe I will get a lemon or two.
Flowers everywhere

  1. The first couple of pictures almost blinded me, they're so bright. I love wind chimes and don't have nearly enough. Only a few small ones inside. I'll get more eventually.
Pity about the spilt paint, but it wasn't much and your gate looks lovely! I love the truck tyre plant, it grows so well after a haircut doesn't it? I'm thinking of one for a hanging basket, there is a hook for one outside my back porch.
Your whole garden is looking great.

    1. Funny I tried that plant [creeping charlie] in a hanging pot and for some reason it always looked scuffy but I don't have a lot of luck with hanging baskets.

    1. Works ok and lasts well too but it's always a good idea to keep a bit of paint in reserve for touch ups.

  10. Beautiful post with your garden coming to life while mine takes a deep sleep. Ha
I can't imagine anything worse than dropping a jar of paint..... well maybe a sharp stick in the eye, but cleaning up paint is the pits. I have paint shoes too.... also lawn mowing shoes, garden spading shoes and cleaning the chicken coop shoes. I toss them all in the wash machine and they come out fine.
Happy days are here again. Looks like little ghosts floating around in your garden. Haha

Am always refreshed on my visits to your place! I do so miss my Asquith garden - had so many different pelargoniums and geraniums... sigh... Meanwhile the sky is still high and the sun rose on the left hand side this morning, so all good here! YAM xx

  16. Your garden is looking good Merle. The little creeper in with your cuttings is a really pretty plant. I don't know its name but I have it everywhere and has a tiny mauve flower. It actually clings to walls and fences as it climbs too.
Love your red gate, even with the spilled paint :) I've always wanted one of those gates to sit in the garden, but they are like hens teath to get and very expensive.
