And as you can see not a cloud in the sky well that means a cold night.
My november lilies are all standing up, a lot of the leaves and all the flowers were cut off after I transplanted them, there are three large pots and all look fairly happy.
and my new daisies look ok too, they were in woolies for a few weeks and looked like death warmed up and were going at a bargain price, they looked so sad i felt sorry for them.
The spot were we sit on the rainy days or late afternoon you get the last of the sun and it's under cover.
Drummy out the front doing a bit of snail and bug hunting, she likes to debug before any weeding is done and as she eats spiders I don't mind.
Kidney keeping guard in case someone wants a fresh chicken dinner.
The bottlebrush is flowering.
and so is this wild grass it will soon be everywhere
The young fellow next door and down one has moved his front lawn strip .
looks like he is going to water his front lawn, maybe not if it's like my garden it should be ok for a few weeks as mine was swimming in water a few days ago.
This is a ground cover that takes off in wet weather, it's done quite well in the last couple of weeks.
We're holding on to summer...21 days until autumn....*sigh*.

The end of summer is always sad.
DeleteMerle.............
22 is perfect, I wish it would stay at that here for us a bit longer but its falling, Fall is upon us, Drummy is such a good chicken to eat the spiders, I would appreciate that very much, Lord knows I hate spiders, more than I hate snakes, your garden looks great for having made it through winter, the Daisies are a lovely kind, the center looks blue, seems to me your garden has a spot to sit in for all weather, I would love that Does Kidney guard Drummy for Drummies protection or to save a chicken dinner for himself! lol, wouldn't you love to know what the cats are thinking!!!
ReplyDeleteThe older I get the more rests I need so I have seats every where usually in the sun or shade for summer, often it's hard to find a vacant one as the cats like to watch you work in the garden and the hen follows you around in case you find a snail or bug and she likes her snacks.

I'm looking forward to your spring and summer, we're heading into a another forecasted mean winter. I hope bad weather is minor for both of us.
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting a hot summer as we had a milder winter, hope your winter is mild too.

ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful part of the year and good to see things flourishing. Kidney and Drumstick make a fine couple!!! YAM xx
They are not really a couple but Kidney looks after everyone but she is not kind or friendly.

Send some of your rain this way. Please. It has been promised, and promised but never gets here.
ReplyDeleteWe are still starting our days in negative temperatures, but the days to follow are gorgeous.
The rain has left us too, but the radio said we might get a storm this afternoon, i could do a naked go away rain dance in the back yard now that would amuse the neighbours but there would complaints.
DeleteMerle.........
I thought we may have had photos of your garden under water. After a fine period, it is about to rain heavily here and we are entering a cooler spell.
ReplyDeleteI live on top of a hill so it would have to be a lot of rain for us to be under water, it all drains away very well
DeleteMerle............
We've had nothing but rain and wind for the past week. Looking forward to spring, like you.
ReplyDeleteSpring will be most welcome.
DeleteMerle.............
Nice to see Drummy out and about. We have had quite a bit of rain and I am looking forward to our transition to fall in a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteDrummy is always out and about, she is the most free range chicken ever but not allowed in the house because she is not toilet trained.
DeleteMerle......................
Your garden looks nice, Merle. Must be nice to sit out there in the late afternoon. You are going into spring. We are going into autumn and then-----yuk. Winter. Susan
ReplyDeleteIf we don't have winter we wouldn't love spring so much.
DeleteMerle............
Just been scrolling. What a beautiful community you have! And flowers blooming before the official start of spring? Doesn't happen here...
ReplyDeleteIt's good to scroll, I often miss posts and I only got about 60 followers but some people have hundreds how do they keep up.
DeleteMerle..........
We had a grey day on Sunday and I was woken by rain about midnight, it kept up until about 9am, so I didn't have to water my new plants at all. I like your sunny late afternoon spot, it looks quite cosy. Now I have to go back to Woolies and pick up some plants I saw there last Saturday, I forgot to go back yesterday. I hope they are still there.
ReplyDeleteDo you often buy plants from Woolies, I have more luck with plants from there than the nurseries they don't have a good pick up rate but the ones from Woolies I usually get fresh and plant out straight away so they pretty much all survive.
DeleteMerle...........
Summer is ending here. Looking forward to watching your garden come alive! Hope you have a SUNNY week!
ReplyDeleteLots flowers just starting but this is the first spring with Drummy she like young shoots so some will get eaten this year.
DeleteMerle..............
Your summer is coming -- and ours is just leaving. /sigh/ I went winter boot shopping just yesterday!
ReplyDeletePearl
Winter boot shopping is always fun.
Deletemerle.............
Your summer begins as ours ends. I'm a little envious of you but I shouldn't be should I? I had a lovely summer, I hope yours is wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteJess x
Thank you hope so too.

ReplyDeleteHi Barb it's turned back to winter.
DeleteMerle............
Happy Spring, you are welcoming what we are saying goodbye to.
ReplyDeleteJen
Sure are.
DeleteMerle.......
Merle,
ReplyDeleteSpring is coming to you soon, and Autumn is on its way here! The bottlebrush is so pretty. There's something very different and lovely about it. You know, daisies are one of my favorites, but I've never seen them with a purple center, how cool. Enjoy your spring, and Happy September! Tell Drumstick I said hello.
love,
~Sheri
Those daisies are pretty common over here, I think they are pretty too.

So nice to have spring now, after a long winter. It looks like things are coming to life in your gardens once again - pretty daisies! Kidney looks fat and happy and so does Drummy. So nice that she eats lots of bugs. Your sitting area looks so comfy and it is nice to get the late afternoon light. Happy Spring, Merle! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteKidney is as fat as fat lately she is a yo yo eater and as summer hits she loses weight wish I could.
