A day out at the local gardens and zoo

The sun is shining and a cool breeze is keeping it cool enough for walking so Barb and I are setting off to check out the local gardens at Auburn, it's a lovely place and they have a small zoo and the gardens are full of peacocks that wonder around free but she hasn't been in ten years so she will notice many changes..
It's about a 3 k's to the gardens but there is a bus so we sat on the bus stop for a hour waiting no bus arrived so we started walking.

Barb has had a operation on her eyes so the are very sensitive to the sun so this is her solution until she gets new glasses rather cute.
We arrived in time for lunch but the little cafe that was there is now a art gallery and they told us there was a tennis club around the corner so we headed off.
Lunch was pretty good and to join cost $2.20 cheaper than the bus fare so I joined up.

The gardens were free today and not many people were there, no one on the gate, they have just finished The Cherry Blossem Festival ant they have a lot of visitors at that time.

Lots of waterfalls and cool areas to sit and relax.
This little fellow came up to say hello.

Not sure what this is, it's in the Japanese gardens.
This was the only water bird that came close, he wondered up sit down and posed for his picture he is a beautiful fellow.
Most of the times I have been up here there is something going on, there was a photo shoot and this peacock wanted to get into the action, the model in the blue wig just moved over and let him have his moment in the spotlight.

All the peacocks just wonder around free and I was surprised how many there were.
The pop in to visit the wallabies.
Sit on the fences at the mini zoo.
The little albino wallaby was a favourite.
This fine fellow let me get pretty close but he wouldn't open his tail.

They rock wallabies are so sweet.
This one has a joey in the pouch you can just see a little leg sticking out.

The kangaroos are relaxing, the day was warm enough for a nana nap.
And a drink

This is the entrance gate and nobody was any where around the peacocks had been out walking and were just coming back maybe they went to the club for afternoon tea.

We were thinking about going on the free bus but trouble was it only runs on Thursday it was Wednesday so a pretty long wait.

This is selfie

Another go not too good at this.

There is a  small area across the road where there are large cages of birds.

Only one peacock here maybe he was injured or didn't like people as he was the only one in a cage.
Here we have some shots of the Japanese area.

The clothes for the photo shoot, I thought it was someones washing.

Well thats it, it getting late and we have a long walk home they changed the bus route a few weeks ago we just found out, but no one  has put up a notice in the bus shelters.

Flowers in the supermarket well I never.

Breakfast time french toast or fried bread whatever you prefer bacon and coffee, what is that noise it out in the bottlebrush tree.
Two birds discussing the world in general very loudly and fighting over the flowers, who know why their are plenty, you can just see them they are orange and green mainly and blend in with the tree.

As you can see it's not shaping up to a very nice day, very overcast but no rain expected.

So I went shopping, this is a Geraldton Wax called Moulin Rouge, it's a Australian native from WA.
You don't expect too many plants in your local supermarket but in spring they go a bit overboard, they had mango and coffee trees masses of vegs,  herbs and  flowers so I had a bit of a spend up.
I got some daisys too.
The beer fairy's veg garden, he doesn't have to do anything they just grow he loves the flowers they are all different colours but they are eatable and do look pretty.
My maple is shooting new leaves.
And herbs doing well

I have some interesting tree stumps what to do with them any ideas.

I took some photos of the varieties of colours.

My fence is completely covered by flowering Jasmine.
See there is a fence under there

Also got a new solar light for the Japanese garden from the supermarket this morning.
When I arrived home these two are sitting at each end I not sure if they are having a friendly chat or not.
 Not looking to happy.
 maybe a difference of ideas
 Or  maybe a stalemate.

The beer fairy made a frame for Augus's picture and he is up on the wall.

A NEW BOSS

WWWell we have a new prime minster not my choice but I didn't like any of them this time that's unusual, we also lost the rugby last night to South Africa the first time in 7 years in Brisbane, and we shouldn't mention the cricket.
That is just the mens side our women are champions but it is not so well known as they don't get the credit like the mens teams do and don't have the following, some of our women's teams have done very well this year.
We had a woman as prime minster until a few months back but there was a takeover, by the grey ghost as the party liked their chances with him better than her but it was not to be.

But we now have a new boss and I hope he solves some of the problems and keeps everyone happy, not easy to do, maybe he will grow on me, maybe not.

I have a daffodil, I'm getting some broms for my birthday and must paint the bathroom roof

How about that my first flower, I have had daffodils bulbs for years and this is my first flower I'm so pleased.
Everyone round here produces masses of flowers but for some reason I don't and I love these yellow flowers.

Here are my broms they have all came from Barbs place so the do well in the cooler weather but it will show you, Joe what I have.

My fruit tree has flowers so I will find out what it is someone threw a seed out the window and it just grew and because it's so narrow down the side of the house no one goes there, it's done well.

My bathroom need painting, this very expensive mould free paint but they didn't say anything about peeling paint and it was painted a while back.
I will have to con the beer fairy, I not keen on ladders or heights.
While Angus was visiting I worked on his picture but his tail is hard to get right .

But that is his face.
