The garden last year almost dead this year lots of growth.

This is my wall very sick and chewed out but we have murdered all the white ants so far well the pest guy did and ok to rebuild the wall as there is now no sign of them.
The beer fairy bought me some jigsaws for my birthday kept me busy for a while.
and i had to move a lot of the garden away from the outside walls as the house was not getting enough ventalation so it was moist all the time white ants like dampness.
we took out all the panels that were eaten away they are wood so we will replace them with plasterboard.
one jigsaw finished

second jigsaw finished

This was the worse one

We cut the cladding away from the ground to allow more air under the house much drier there now.

most likely put plastic lattice ther to neaten it up but still allow the air in.
Here are some nice relaxing garden pictures as everything is growing well we had lots of rain not like last year when we were ringed with fires and no rain in sight and the garden was slowly dying

  1. Loving your garden - as I always do. Can you tell me what the plant in the 21st picture down is? I have seen it at a neighbours house and lusted after it, but she is never home to ask.
Big, big sigh at the white ants. I hope you have got rid of them for good.
You are much more patient than I am on the jigsaw front.

    2. I know it as Greek Basil, a perennial bush which grows fairly big but not huge, bees love the flowers.

Having experienced white ants, I know the annoyance - here's to that being the last of them.

So good to see your garden again, looking lush right enough. I love a good jigsaw puzzle, though admittedly, I am doing mostly online ones now... even have my own set up!

The new year has dawned very clear-skyed and bright, though freezing temps - I'd like to think that is a harbinger of better times ahead. Here's hoping! YAM xx

  4. Merle, so good to see you back again. Your garden is lovely; it obviously has seen rain. I hope that keeps your wildfires at bay this year. Happy new year!

  5. So sorry to hear you had termites, but a timely reminder to all who read here to move gardens away from house walls a bit. I didn't realise you had cladding, I thought your house was real bricks. The jigsaws look like they'd give me a headache, my brother loves challenges like those.
Your garden is looking lush and lovely again.

    1. Our house is weatherboard and cladded so not so good for here but brick is very cold in winter here nice in summer and when we bought the house 30 years ago it has just been done so it looked pretty good and I thought no more painting so I didn't mind.
