Two weeks worth.

I'm missing my babies, mum and dad and the twins have arrived in NZ and settled in.
It's been two weeks, first the computer died along with my phone there was a problem with the wires or conectors outside so telstra had to fix it that always takes forever but they got here eventually.
My oldest cat Kidney has gone missing she has not been to good lately so it was not a surprise but she is well known in the neighbourhood and no one has seen her but it is very sad .
I've been keeping busy, my chairs and table are getting on a bit 35 years old so they were looking a bit shabby so a good clean a quick sand and new varnish has picked them up.
There is lots to do in the garden as I not done much over the last couple of years.

I do the pruning but just been leaving it where it falls.,a big clean up is under way.
The pond has been empty for some time, I would like some fish.
Will have a burn off as it's cooling down now, and no fire bans on any more.
This tree will have to go, does any one know what these lumps are ?
It grows mainly on the shed, but it must be putting strain on the roof.
Still plenty of sun the days are mild but not much rain around

Pidge is still going strong but we have no idea how old he is or how long they live.

  1. Of course you are missing the babies. And their parents. How long before you go to visit?
    Kidney missing is another sadness.
There is always lots of work to do in a garden isn't there?
Love your work on the table and chairs.

    1. Most likely not until september they need to have a permanent home and be moved in and Angus settled in, he is at my place till they are settled.
Gardens always need something done and mine a bit of a mess at the moment.

  2. I am sure you are very much missing the twins. Computer troubles freed up time and meant you fixed up the chairs? Kidney may have gone away to die. We eventually found our favourite cat who was quite old just sitting under a bush and waiting for death to come. We took him to the vet who took care of the matter. Good to hear Pidge is still good.

  3. I see you are sanding and varnishing too :)
I know you must be missing the twins a lot and your daughter and son in law too, then to have Kidney disappear as well is terrible.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the garden develops.

  7. It is hard when your family with their children move away.
It was hard when youngest son, his then wife and their 2 little ones went to Queensland, now a 3rd one and back home here to Tasmania after 6 years - it wasn't easy having them away but we could visit each year...hopefully you can visit.
You cat, oh dear. You do have a lot of gardening to do, and it's amazing how nice furniture comes up with a sand down and varnish...

So sorry to hear of Kidney's disappearance...as Andrew mentions, likely to find the final resting place.
The chairs look smart and I have no doubt the garden will follow! Those flowers on your table are begging to be painted on a canvas. :-) YAM xx

  14. you will find lot's to keep you busy, fun hobbies that you have neglected or not had time for in the past. you will always miss them but perhaps life will settle down and a new routine will develop!!!

still, there is nothing quite as fun as family/baby time!!!

  15. You keep yourself busy in gardening to forget the sorrows. That is a good idea.
As days goes on everything gets changed...

  16. We had a pigeon who had a broken wing, we rescued him from the road. Lived with us 12 years. No idea how old when we found him...........yes we are mid clean up too. The snow came before we finished raking up leaves so a real mess come Spring. Snow only just gone and the weather man says we could get some Friday..........he was very sheepish and hardly dare mention it haha...........you will love your garden when its all done.
