So just a wonder round the garden to start with.
The vege garden is ready to plant out but just too hot a the moment.
At least the washing get dry very quickly
My daughter gave me these little wire birds.
And we trimmed a branch off the tree growing too close to the shed, the whole lot will have to go in the next couple of months.
We went out for dinner one night so I took a couple of pictures I remembered the camera this time blurry works for me now doesn't show the wrinkles, my daughter looks good all the time but me not so much.
This is the visiting son, hungary I think, been working hard.
And the beer fairy having a beer.
This is Drumstick she just turned up the other day and so far hasn't left.
Not sure where she has come from, we live on a busy road so she hasn't come to far.
Kidney has introduced herself
She is giving her the tour around the place.
Now she is getting a invite to move in,
so she is checking out the yard.
and likes what she sees
Kidney is still showing her around
I have a cover of leaf litter so many insects and droped bird seed from Pidge so plenty of food
I have told the neighbours she is here so we will see if her owners turn up.
That's so nice of Kidney to be so welcoming! Haha, you're too funny...the older we get, the more we love blurry pictures:)
ReplyDeleteKidney really is a odd cat she loves everyone but her own children.

such a beautiful yard you have, its full of interesting plants and fun! Thats why the chicken is staying, she knows she's home, you won't cook her will you! Tell the beer fairy you are not allowed to cook visitors, lol! Maybe you better tell Kidny as well, that cat may have an ulterior motive!
ReplyDeleteI did mention she would made a good christmas dinner but no one liked that idea so she is safe, but she is thin maybe thats why she left home in the first place.
DeleteMerle............
I love your garden and, like Drumsticks, would love to move in. Is she paying her rent with eggs yet?
ReplyDeleteNo eggs yet but she could be a old lady for all I know, how do you tell a chickens age.
DeleteMerle ...............
It will be interesting to learn why Drumsticks left home. I looked around; how's the tub o'herbs coming along? Surviving all the hot weather. We just cut back our rosemary today and hope it winters over in its new little corner of the porch.
ReplyDeleteThe herbs are doing well, we lost a few things in the heat but it's cold and rainy today so that should pick everything up.
DeleteMerle...........
Well nice meeting you Drumstick! Wonder what Angus would think of this new friend?
ReplyDeleteAngus is staying a couple of days next week so yes it will be interesting the only bird he has ever known is Pidge.
DeleteMerle.............
Oh Merle, imagine that chicken just showing up in your yard! How funny is that! Thanks for all the photos of the garden. Imagine. It is so hot there and very cold here. Have a nice rest of the weekend. Susan
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here today and it rained almost forgot what that was.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - I have been finding random Cockerals and you've got random chooks - what's happening in Sydney??!! She's very pretty and looks right for you wonderful story book garden! YAM xx
They fellow behind us has chickens but he said he wasn't missing any so who knows where she has come from.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I love your garden! I'm going to hang around in the garden sections of Cheap as Chips and the Reject Shop here when they have sales with garden ornaments. I'll put a few whimsical bits around near the end of my front path and expand from there with pots and things. Make that little bit "mine". I hope you get to keep Drumstick.
ReplyDeleteThe garden is a bit sad and sorry at the moment because of the long dry spell some things have died, no four o clocks have come up this year that has never happened before, and my christmas bells have died without flowering so there will be gaps this year.
DeleteI get a lot of things from the Reject Shop too.
Merle.............
Are you in Sydney or Melbourne?
ReplyDeleteSydney
DeleteMerle............
EVERY time I look at your garden I see something new and different.
ReplyDeleteWell Drumstick is new this time.
DeleteMerle........
Drumstick looks extremely content. I bet your husband gave him that name. I love the wire bird.
ReplyDeleteNo it was the son who named him.
ReplyDeleteMerle.............
All that wonderful greenery and the spaces of shade.... I love gardens, so much. Wish we were just beginning the season but now I can do a few indoor things. You are surrounded by my favorite things. I've always tried to have chickens around me. I want chickens but hate cleaning their house. Nice time out with your son. So what is a Beer Fairy without a beer? Of course. Haha
ReplyDeleteAt the moment it's all dripping with rain not that we are complaining it's most welcome.
DeleteThe beer fairy doesn't drink beer very much any more, it does upset his heart medication and he no longer likes the taste very much that was the reason he always gave for drinking the stuff for years so only when we go out for dinner now.
Merle................
I love seeing your sunshine and the laundry hanging out to dry. Gray and cold here on my part of the planet. LOVE that you have a visiting chicken. Very sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt was drying in a couple of hours thats pretty good but now it pouring rain here too. Drumstick is still here.
DeleteMerle..........
THat looks like one happy chicken!
ReplyDeleteIt follows me around in the garden like a puppy.
DeleteMerle.............
Merle,
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice seeing pictures of your garden. Look at those pink flowers! The wire birds are so cute. Drumstick looks like she's getting into mischief, but it seems that all the animals are getting along pretty well.
Have a nice Sunday.

They all get on most of the time as long as they have places to go to be alone.

Had to call the hubby to see your kitty showing the vagrant chicken around. You live in a slice of heaven!

I think she likes it here showing no signs of moving on, we once had a bunny move in with us at another house we lived in that had a big lawn who ate all the grass then moved onto the next house.
