TWO DAYS OF POURING RAIN

THIS IS THE BANKS AND SURROUNDING PARK TO OUR LOCAL CREEK.

ONLY IN THE NIGHT TIME YESTERDAY IT BECAME A RIVER.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO FULL, WE HAD LOTS OF RAIN OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, THE REST OF THE STATE HAD A LOT MORE THAN US AND WE NOW HAVE FLOODS EVERYWHERE,BUT WE ARE OK.

WE GOT 100MLS OR 4 INCHES LAST NIGHT.

MY BAMBOO GREW ABOUT 6" OVERNIGHT.

THIS ALL LOOKED HALF DEAD LAST WEEK.

KIDNEY WAS NOT HAPPY SHE WANTED TO GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY BUT EVERYTHING WAS WET NOT HER FAVOURITE THING.

SHE SPENT ALL MORNING GAZING OUT ALL THE DIFFERENT WINDOWS AND IF SHE COULD I'M SURE SHE WOULD BE SIGHING.

  1. I am so thankful you got rain! And poor Kidney. My cat is the opposite - Rosie Girl LOVES water and if she is inside while I am doing dishes or having a shower, she always tries to jump into the water :) Whenever we get snow, she will go outside and bury her head in the cold, wet stuff. Silly cat!

    Hugs to you,
    Stephanie

    1. Hi Stephanie,
That is one unusual pussy, I had many cats over the years and had never had one that like water. We once owned a cat "treasure" who needed a bath because she had a severe flee infection that the flee treatments at the time had no effect on. The washer(the beer fairy) was dressed in a bike helment. a leather jacket and thick rubber gloves he still got scratched she really hated water.

  2. Feast or famine, is it not Merle? Mac hates the rain so he sympathizes with Kidney! Now it we had snow he would be in heaven!
(or sand for that matter, it's all pebbles here!)
All the best and watch for flood warning,

Yes we are back to a bit steamy and hot now.

  4. 100mls is fair bit! Your garden looks very happy again :-)
We are still on water restrictions here..in spite of the rain.
Poor Kidney - there's not much for a cat to do on a rainy day except look out the window or sleep.
Hope the creek doesn't rise too much and cause any problems!
    love..Trish

    1. Hi Trish,
Duck creek is tidal so it unusual for it to rise at all so I was surprised that it was so high just a lot of water at once I think.
The garden is so happy and so is the cats now its stopped raining.
      love Merle.......

I too love my stained glass windows, they are only on the widows that face the street.

  6. Thank you for visiting my blog, Merle. I see you've been having a lot of rain just like us but I don't have a stream/river nearby ;-) Your garden photos and indoor photos are really lovely. Your cat is so pretty and it looks like she has a great place to frolic and play.

  7. HI,
All the rain was fallout from a cyclone up north in Queensland, usually they cross the coast and lose power when they go inland but this time it travelled down the coast so it didn't burn itself out and lasted longer, but we needed the rain just not that much.

    1. Hi Jeanetteann,
It was nice after the heat, we are back to hot again but there is a nice little wind blowing just enough to keep everything pleasant.

  9. I can't believe you had that much water in such a short time. We had such a drought here for so long that it will take something like that to even up our scales. For some reason, I love the windy look of that stream turned river. I'm sure that's easy to say from so far away, right?

    1. Hi Debbie,
They have done a pretty good job of storm management around here, we have a lot of canals and that drains the water away pretty quickly so we are lucky there.

  11. Hey thanks for visiting my blog. With the pictures of your rain I thought you lived locally as we had quite a deluge yesterday ... and then I looked more and tried to guess where you lived and I guessed correctly! A place I've always wanted to visit!

  13. Your garden looks wonderful. We are in a terrible drought and will be on water restrictions unless we let tons of snow soon! We haven't had rain for 1-2 years. The sound of it while you are sleeping is divine!
