After the rain and a few paintings

Today was a very hot day with a shower this afternoon I was trying to capture the light after the rain was over and the sun came out it was super bright and very beautiful, I'm new to cameras so I'm not too good but this is my best effort. This is a bit blurry.

I think this captures some of the colour and brightness.

This is our little stray who has moved in she or he won't let anyone to close but is slowly becoming more friendly.,

Oh we don't like rain but the table is a good place to shelter under.

I took some pictures of my paintings too, a bit of reflection in this one.

my ducks .

Still the one I like the best.

my daughter when she was much younger.
I'm doing something wrong there is a lot of reflections.

This is my latest one it is for a friend who is moving to the beach and wanted
a painting of the sea in his living room, I told him he was getting
an original Turner only the wrong Turner.

  1. Hello Merle! Great photos! Keep snapping.

Merle, did you paint those paintings? They are WONDERFUL! If you painted them all, you are truly a very talented artist!

Thank you so much for your visits and comments.

Like so many people in the USA and all over, I am filled with deep sadness over the senseless killings of the little ones. Sad, sad, sad Christmas.

    Take care, Merle. Susan

    1. Hi Susan,
Yes they are all mine, I'm not new to painting but when I was working I never had the time since retiring I have taken it up again.

  2. You certainly have a beautiful garden.

I wasn't aware that you were such a talented artist, wow! I could never paint anything as lovely as you do. My gift/talent lies with creating words through poetry, sigh!

I think that you did a lovely job with you photography. It's "tricky" to take a photograph of a painting/picture without a glare. Taking these pictures at different angles helps you to get the best picture, though sometimes, if there is too much light in the room which can't be avoided, you'll get the glare anyway. At least this has been my experience.

    Blessings!

    1. Hi,
I think poetry is great, I can't do it very well, I have trouble stringing two word together that's why my blogs have lots of pictures and not much writing.

    1. Hi Barb,
Loved your present, so does everyone else Angus was very interested(I think he likes the movement). If I put it on the table outside it's like a mini windmill, the wind moves it all day

  5. Love the dappled sunlight in your garden, Merle!
    Always so pretty.
I know it's frustrating when you can't quite catch the effect you want in your photos.
But I just go ahead and post mine anyway and leave people to use their imagination as to how great something looked in real life :-)
Sometimes I have to open shut curtains to try to cut the glare out for indoor shots.

I absolutely love the water reflected on the sand in your last painting!!
And the one with the little girl and dogs at the beach.
We are adding more "beachy" things to our house and hubby is planning on painting a beach scene for our loungeroom.
He could do with some lessons from you though, lol!
Love the one of Shara too.

    Have a good day, love..Trish

    2. Hi Trish ,
Did you mean to delete those last two comments, I'm glad I'm glad I 'm not the only one who does that sort of thing.
Tell your hubby to paint his beach scene in the summer for some reason they turn out better if you paint cool things in summer and warm things in winter, I tried to paint a river scene in the middle of winter and it was awful.
      Thank you and merry christmas.
      love Merle.........
