Last year it was a bit poor but this year I was so impressed maybe had something to do with the cold winter we had this year, we are now allowed to take photos so I got snapping.
I hope you enjoy the show I know I did.
The lion looks to me like he is lost in a dream, I liked him a lot.
The blue one won second prize.
My photo is a bit blurry the painting was a lot clearer.
I have no idea what this is .
This was a stunning picture but didn't win anything, but they were for sale and this one was just over $900 .
I liked this one no frame so one was painted on just a bit different.
Good sky.
Lots of detail here.
I pretty sure this was a painting of our local markets, I think I've seen the lady behind the counter on the bus.
This was a stunning picture but behind glass so a bit of a problem with reflections.
Birds were popular but no cats, guess they would chase the birds.
I think I've seen him on the bus too.
The winner but my flash has spoiled the picture sorry about that.
This is the Parramatta park, as you can see lots of buildings going up .
Nice cool spot on a hot day.
These shops have all shut, a 90story building is going up here or so I've heard, all apartments and shops underneath.
Off home now see you later.
Some absolute stunners in the art show. I do like the lion. And there were some water lilies which were reminiscent of Monet. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLove that tree in your final photo - and are they jacaranda on the side?
The water lilies were very simular to Monet, to tell the truth they looked better to me but I've never seem the original, so it hard to tell.
DeleteWonder big trees around the park.
Merle......
There is some good work there. I like the umbrella photo and the local market photo.
ReplyDeleteI liked the market photo because it felt alive to me.

So many beautiful paintings, especially liked the eagle and rosellas, we see a lot of them around here. Parramatta seems to be growing so fast, with all the new buildings going up, but I love the old church and the trees beside it. Cheers, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteBirds were very popular this year.
DeleteParramatta is considered a city now, it's still a odd place to me a bit rough around the edges.

ReplyDeletesome absolute stunners! ....but Merle, your work would easily hold its own among the group; and I am sure they would sell!!! Parramatta was always a 'mobile' landscape... YAM xx
Last year I would have said I could win but it's so much better this year, I was glad I didn't enter maybe next year.
DeleteMerle..........
They are all nice. The Winning one is very good, and like you I think the Lion is dreaming...
ReplyDeleteHe has a gentle look on his face, most likely not like that at all.
DeleteMerle..........
Thanks for taking us. It's the umbrellas for me.
ReplyDeleteThat one is so different to the rest, it has real appeal.
DeleteMerle..........
Hello, what a wonderful art show! I like the lion but I think the waterlilies is my favorite. I also like the birds. Thanks for sharing, happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure it was very enjoyable.

My goodness! There are some really WONDERFUL art pieces there. I can see why the winner took first place! I loved that lion picture, too. I actually liked all of them. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteMe too.

What a nice art show, Merle. Lots of interesting paintings. My favorites were the Lion, the colored umbrellas, the bridge, and of course, the roses. You are always going to wonderful outings.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
The roses were so well done very lifelike.

I loved the art show you attended. How nice to be able to photograph the paintings! Have a lovely evening. ♥
ReplyDeleteI did ask if I could take photos and told them I would put them on my blog, they were happy for me to do that.
DeleteMerle.........
wow, it would be hard to choose a winner. I love the eagle and the poppies. There are several that I could put on my walls.
ReplyDeleteJanice
Me too pretty much all are very good a few duds but I didn't take pictures of those ones.
DeleteMerle.......
90 stories, all apartments with shops underneath, New York style.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful pieces in the Art Gallery, hard to pick a favourite, but I really like the street with the clocks on lamp posts one.
All that is needed now is clearance from air traffic control, or that's what I have heard.
DeleteMerle..............
What a great show! I love the poppies best.
ReplyDeleteThe poppies are very popular.
DeleteMerle...........
... Wonderful show Merle... I like the red poppies best...
ReplyDeleteI hope you enter next year... xxx Hugs... Barb xxx

I have to say the Lion is my favorite.
