TWO DAYS OF POURING RAIN

THIS IS THE BANKS AND SURROUNDING PARK TO OUR LOCAL CREEK.

ONLY IN THE NIGHT TIME YESTERDAY IT BECAME A RIVER.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO FULL, WE HAD LOTS OF RAIN OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, THE REST OF THE STATE HAD A LOT MORE THAN US AND WE NOW HAVE FLOODS EVERYWHERE,BUT WE ARE OK.

WE GOT 100MLS OR 4 INCHES LAST NIGHT.

MY BAMBOO GREW ABOUT 6" OVERNIGHT.

THIS ALL LOOKED HALF DEAD LAST WEEK.

KIDNEY WAS NOT HAPPY SHE WANTED TO GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY BUT EVERYTHING WAS WET NOT HER FAVOURITE THING.

SHE SPENT ALL MORNING GAZING OUT ALL THE DIFFERENT WINDOWS AND IF SHE COULD I'M SURE SHE WOULD BE SIGHING.

Baby bird in my garden

Somewhere in this garden was a doves nest, the parents had left for some reason and left the baby behind, he was nearly full grown but not too sure of himself, we found Leroy wondering around with the little fellow in his mouth. We managed to get him free and he is ok just a shaken up so he has lived in the round cage for a week or two to get his wings right and fatten up.

We put seed in the bird bath thinking his parents might come back but haven't seen any trace of them.

I have moved more plants into the shade as the sun has been very strong lately.

Plenty of shade under the trees.

This is the little fellow who has been staying with us.

He will be let out today, he let him out last week but just sat on the ground and wouldn't try to fly,  so we will see how he goes today. The cats have to be locked inside they think he would make a nice dinner.

He seams happy in the garden, lots of birds visit but Pige is the only permanent tenant, he chases all other birds off if they stay too long.

Nothing more has died in the heat wave.

Angus was visiting yesterday even he seemed a bit pooped in the heat, it's a hot summer.

It is too hot for gardening most days so everything is getting messy, but never mind.

This is where I spend my afternoons when there is a cool breeze blowing.

Bits of this and that

I getting there one more bin of tree cuttings to go but now what to do with the windows, they were for my son as he was replacing all his windows but now has moved to another state and they are renting out their house here so he has no need for them now.

It's in it naming its stories or offerings advice.

I added butterflies on the spare bedrooms windows

They have no views of the gardens only the driveway.

And birds on the wall to keep the butterflies company.

I was given this kitten in a basket Kidney was very interested for a while I think she was worried this was another cat moving in.

She was not sure for some time.

Cleaning up the driveway

This is the state of my driveway at the moment, we have lots of tree branches from cutting the tree off the roof bits of left over stuff from Ian's move. the branches can't be burnt because we have a total fire ban on at the moment and that should last for some time as we have more heat waves coming up, so all our branches have to be cut into short lengths and put in out garden waste bin.

It really is a mess

It doesn't worry Leeroy she is checking out the birds in the trees.

This is one bin full, it is emptied tomorrow.

Kidney is not not going to help she just ignores any work to be done.

making a small dent in the mess.

Pidge and the beer fairy are talking world events out on the back bench, no help there.

This one had it dozed off to sleep.

Back to ignoring me.

No change there.

Well ok what do you want

Oh I have new wind chimes for the garden.

And these are my clowns.

A bit more done now you can walk down the drive, I really want to put a swimming pool in here, wouldn't that be great, I don't know if the council will let me but the first I have to clean it.

Second bin load, this is slow going.

Winter sunshine.

A wonderful winters day warm sunshine, no wind and no rain, I must go and buy food but when I get back a day in the garden is on the car...
