A mobility scooter, a missing cat and a lot of garden work.

This was given to the beer fairy, his brother had another stroke, has limited walking and this would give him more freedom but we have to get batteries and a charger and organise it to be sent down to him, he lives in the Snowy Mountains, in a small country town.
I'm cutting our my dead bogie, it's very thorny,
and a bit of a mess at the moment.

This tree died when they build the house next door, they hit a tap root and it just turned up its toes and has become a danger.
The bogie was all tangled around it and the base was rotting but no one wanted to get in there and cut it out but Boo Peek attacked it with a chain saw the other day and it's my job to cut all the bogie away, the beer fairy is on blood thiners so he shouldn't get to many pricks as he bleeds a lot, plus I'm more careful than the males I know.
We are one cat down Hooie's sister has been missing for three weeks now no sign of her anywhere. We hope she has found another home as just lately she has been taking trips around the local area.
Hooie is a bit camera shy always looks away.
Here she is licking her lips, didn't realise what she was doing until I blew up the picture.
My pavers are now terra cotta colour so is the ground, the rust water from the old hot water system was so rusty it's left it's mark, I quite like it.
My front verandah wall will soon need attention big cracks are appearing.
I had pot plants on it and water caused damage but it was a slow process and I didn't realise but we live and learn.

Cutting back out the front too.
Haven't tackled this side yet.

  4. That's a nice gift for your brother-in-law, Merle. I'm sure he will greatly appreciate the chance to get around better. It's always a worry when a cat goes missing, but they love their freedom and they are happier that way. Clearing out the gardens are much better than going to the gym, I think. You see the progress that much sooner :) I love the pink flowers in front of the picket fence. x Karen

  5. There's always lots to do in the garden its my outdoor gym I reckon ! Your garden is magnificent, all the effort you put into it really shows. I really like the terracotta colour and iron is good for the soil too. Hopefully you can get the scooter to your brother in law quickly and easily. Cheers, Cheryl.

    1. It rained last night and the pavers are still rust coloured so it looks like it will last for a while anyway.

  6. Oh no, I am so sorry to ear about the missing cat :( I truly hope she is okay....

Gardening is always a full-time job, isn't it? As you know it's fall here and there are some things I need to take care of in the garden before winter comes :) Hugs to you!

  7. That's a big job, all that cutting back, but worth the effort. Will you be planting something else in the spaces? The pavers look good terracotta to match the dirt. Hope your cat isn't holed up somewhere with a batch of kittens.

  8. The Hooie photo with the licking is great. I don't suppose you could ride the scooter to your bro in laws place. It might cost a bit to transport it.

  15. Hope your brother-in-law is not too badly affected by the stroke, Merle..the scooter will be a great help to him!
Tackling the dead bogie is a big job and I know what you mean about being more careful than the men....same here! Did you get compensated for them killing it off? We would like to grow it too but it's far too cold here.
I like your "rusty" pavers. We bought terracotta paint from Bunnings and painted our boring old concrete slab where the shed used to be and it looks great now.
There's always work to do around a home and garden...just take it easy and don't overdo it, Merle. I know how easy it is to push yourself too hard to get things done. xxxx
