Breakfast with Dummy and hail in autumn on Anzac day.

It's hard to eat with Drummy she always wants some and will have a go at anything.
The beer fairy wanted noodles for breakfast these are spicy and of course we must eat them out of a saucepan. I sat there and laughed then got the camera.
He tried standing up.
but gave up and just fed them to her, she jumps up and grabs the noodle but I was a bit slow and this one is a bit fuzzy.

she ended up with about half.
Today is Anzac day beautiful morning sunny and warm but the afternoon clouded over very quickly and the heavens opened masses of rain and hail, we only got a small amount compared to the rest of Sydney.
we have been putting down newspaper as our laundry floods

and Drummy like to sit in the toilet when raining she just doesn't like wet feet.

It just pours off the gutters they just can't cope
My solar power box is all alight I think it is transferring power back to the grid but normally you don't notice it but it is so dark.

    1. We almost had a cyclone but they didn't name it as we don't have them, so I called it Allen.

  3. Drummy is a very human chook. In that weather, I don't think you would be transferring power back to the grid.

  4. Excellent rain photos.
If you feed Drummy spicy noodles does she lay curried eggs?
Pity about your laundry flooding, does it have a floor drain?

    1. No curried eggs but she does very solid ones, when she was moulting I had to buy some and they were very wishy washy ones.
The laundry was build around a outside toilet so no drain but it is lower than the rest of the house so that's as far as it goes.

    1. We open the gate most days and she wanders down to the road but does go any further, she is a super free range chicken but people who walk their dogs without leads are a bit of a worry.

  11. Drummy is a pretty smart girl - she knows what she likes. It always smells so clean and fresh after a good, soaking rain. Hope it didn't flood too badly!

    1. We only have one they do so much to improve the soil and you can sort of train them not to dig up stuff so much like a dog she is always with me when working in the garden, the cats sleep mainly and just ignore me most of the time.

  13. I wish we could get rain like that. It's soooo dry here. Practically no snow this winter, either
Dogs are such a worry with chickens. I don't trust any dog and that included my dog. Its not that the dogs plan on killing chickens but the chickens get flustered and start flying around and that excites the dogs and maybe they even want to play with the chickens but death of chickens usually comes. I've had 2 bad experiences with neighbors dogs but the chickens were safe.
