Lots of drama at bingo today.

The fire alarm went off at bingo today, no one took much notice of it as it happens from time to time usually they work it out and it's not a problem.
About 20 mts later went we were getting our lunch they announced everyone was to leave at once.
We had separated my friends mother who is 98 and on a walker had gone off to play the poker machines as she had her lunch earlier, we had a quick scoot around but were ushered out by the staff.
She was helped out by one of the staff members and this fellow went to look for her and wheeled her up to where we were waiting, they were very good and I was very impressed by the kindness shown to her, no panic by the 98 year old, at all see stay calm and you will live for ever.

This is my friend new hairstyle a little bit wind blowen as it's windy and raining a lot today and we been standing around in the rain for a bit.
Anyway we went back to the club but were told to go out again as the problem wasn't  fixed after that we just went down to the car park and drove home as soon as we allowed into the car park.
It was on the news 1200 people were involved and it was a fire in a pizza oven and had moved into ducts so that's why it took so long to be located and controlled but all is well now.

Plenty of firemen and police out the front.
 and fire trucks.

Remember the bears up a tree well they were having a party today, even have a car up there for a quick getaway.

I bought this jigsaw for a few dollars last week, it took a week to do
it much easier than the one with 1000pieces it took a month, do you like jigsaws I find them relaxing.
This one only has 500 pieces.

These two were not too friendly too busy eating and cleaning up afterwards.
I was waiting on the front porch to go to bingo as it's pouring outside.
Nothing like fresh water off the roof.
And this is the 98 year old lady being rescued and escorted by a kind gentleman.

  3. Funny how we ignore alarms and have to be told by someone that we need to leave somewhere. Alarm technology is not good. I like jigsaws but the last one we bought was just too big and taking too long to do, so it had to be broken up as we were having visitors for dinner.

    1. I'm sticking to the 500 ones they take a week, the others are too long.
Alarms have become very common now often hear them going off in houses and just ignore them.

...a case of 'cry wolf', the alarm bizzo, I fear - but at least there were staff on the ball and managed to get things organised really well. Testament to all annual drills! Glad you were all okay, bar a bit of moisture. Love love love the bear tree - and yes, am partial to jigsaws, though don't own any myself. I somehow manage to get involved with other folks! YAM xx

  13. Wow, a bit of excitement for you all! Luckily the fire was found in the ducts, that's a dangerous place for fires as they can travel and low out into any room where the duct opens.
I like the jigsaw, kittens are always cute. I've thought about a way to do jigsaws, I can pull back the tablecloth and do them on the table, then when Angel comes to bother me I'll just pull the cloth back over the finished section until I can get to it again. I've got a 1000 piece jigsaw waiting over on the shelf.
    Barbara's new hairdo looks nice.
I LOVE the bears up the tree.

    1. What a day I was so tired and usually Mondays are so relaxing bingo in the mornings, lunch at the club and play the pokies in the afternoon but it all adds to your life.
I think that was the problem they were not sure what was happening or where it was going so better to be safe than sorry.
I did a big one earlier in the year and my cats were very good with it but it took so long I'm sure they hid a few bits as they have never turned up.
I like her new hair it was a bit more curly as we been in the rain a lot when I took the photo.

  14. Sounds scary, Merle...and being separated from your friend's Mother must have been a bit nerve wracking, too! Bless her heart, 98 and still getting out and about! I just love this! Your friend's haircut looks lovely and soft. I used to do jigsaw puzzles with my youngest son when he still lived at home - it's been a while....they do relax you. Your garden must love the rain. xo Karen

  15. I had no idea bingo could be so exciting! LOL Although I have heard tales of players becoming very competitive and upset with each other. My own 97-year old grandmother plays. She wins all the time!!!

  16. All's well that ends well...thank goodness that everyone is okay. Nothing like a little adventure for not too many 98-year-olds have two handsome gents to rescue them. Your friend's mother is definitely taking it all in stride.

  17. wow, you're right, so much happening at Bingo. Your friend's mother sounds active for 98, that is amazing! I like this picture of your friend - she has a sweet smile. I used to do jigsaw puzzles years ago and enjoyed them. Haven't done them in awhile. Enjoy the rain whenever you get it; it is much needed here.

Have a good rest of the week, Merle. I always like seeing what you've been up to on your posts. :~)
