Kidney is looking her age today, she about 14 years old and looking stout and a bit frumpy but always had a fierce temper.
This is how much rain we had in a few hours, these are my new project and I only put them here the other day to see if they would fit in the space so they half filled with rain water in a couple of hours and they are under a tree.
Under here is Drummy's house she moved out well I'm not sure if she ever moved in but she sleeps near the back door, I think she would like to move into the house but her toilet habits are just not good enough for that.
Angus is visiting for two days while his people get ducked air conditioning fitted, but he was cooped up inside this morning not to his liking so he is happy to roam around the garden and see if there are any changes.
Kidney showing him around
When not sitting in the sun catching some rays.
This is my summer spider, he sure has a very impressive web, the stick is there to knock it down if we are expecting guests to visit most people go up the side but it pretty good for discouraging salesmen and other people who knock on you door when you are busy with something and just don't want to go away.
Wow. Love your garden, and your critters, but that rain bejewelled spider web is amazing.
ReplyDelete(You are still hogging the rain though...)
Sorry I did a go away rain dance but it didn't work.
DeleteMerle...........
It's raining now.
How many photos of your garden have we seen yet it is ever interesting, as is the cast of animals and at times the Beer Fairy. The spider web is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWithout the drops of water you often can't see it upsets some people if they walk into it.

Love the spiderweb sparkling in the sun. The rest of the garden is lovely and rainwashed, everything looks fresh and new. I like all your bowls with little succulents in them.
ReplyDeleteI dream of ducted airconditioning. I have aircon in the lounge here, and that's good enough, if I run it long enough the cool filters into the bedroom with the help of a fan.
I do have a ceiling fan in my loungeroom thats nice in summer but most of the time I open my windows, after years of working in air conditioned offices I now like fresh air.
DeleteHumidity is the thing that I hate.

ReplyDeleteOh again you pull at my heart strings - I had these orb spiders and Saint Andrews Cross spiders at Asquith and some days could have as many as two dozen webs around the yard... I could duck under most of them but so would leave them there; my neighbours thought I was a bit strange... then they got to know me. That confirmed it!!! YAM xx
This year we don't have as many as in the past I think I only have a few this year maybe to much rain.

I enjoy coming to visit you so much, you have such a lovely home and outside area and your relationship with your critters is the way it should be, you speak of them as family, you and I have a lot in common, I wish there was not the ocean between us, I would love to have you over for tea, lol,
ReplyDeleteI would love that too, tea and good company always most welcome.

Hello Merle, your garden is looking wonderful. And I love all the critters, Angus, Drummy and Kidney..It is a good idea to collect the rain water.. Cool shots of the spdier's web! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThis year I will have to do some pruning just so much growth.
DeleteMerle................
It seems your early autumn is nicer than our early spring. I'm not saying spring was early here; it's only on the calendar.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry it will get there.
DeleteMerle............
I am always amazed at how lush and green everything is there. /We are expecting rain today, too. We need it. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love rain now since I had the roof fixed and we no longer have leaks.
DeleteMerle..............
Hello Merle. "A spider a day keeps everyone away!" Gorgeous web, though. Lovely photos, Merle. Hope you have a Happy Easter. Susan
ReplyDeleteWhat a good saying and very true too.

Crikey Merle ...... Mum and I never get sick of your garden. Why????? It looks so ..... oh ...... I dunno .... homely or something. Those spider webs pics are amazing. When Mum and Dad lived in Sydney (Chatswood and way before my time) they had those spider webs too. Mum would NEVER knock 'em down. They also had a swimming pool that they NEVER swam in. They just filled it with rain water, planted stuff in it, filled it with fish and raised three turtles in it that they found injured on the roads. Weird, aye??
ReplyDeleteChatswood hey thats a nice area and very expensive
ReplyDeleteI don't knock down the ones up the back they often are gone by morning but his one in the front likes to keep his up all the time.
I can relate to raising turtles I 'm very fond of them, I would love a few but maybe my cats would give them a bad time.
Merle...................
WHOA!! That spider will definitely discourage uninvited visitors! Wow!
ReplyDeleteWorks most of the time.
DeleteMerle............
No spidies please...lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm scrolling fast past those pics.
When you get that much rain, is it humid? Or does the heat dry it out quickly?
Jen
No everything is soggy at the moment and it's cold.
DeleteMerle...........
Ah Angus, I just knew there was a reason to visit today! Your tail is so beautiful!
