My Chicken Drummy is not laying not eating as much as usual not talking much and sleeping a lot she's is moulting too so I asked a few people I know who have chickens and they told me that moulting can be dramatic for chickens and it lasts for a month, is this right I'm going to have a grumpy Drummy for a month, but she does like sitting in the sun.
Or very slowly wondering around.
This is our last day of summer and everyone is lazy, Pidge is drinking and Kidney is just watching him, there was a time when he would never come down to drink if there was a cat about.
Can you work out what these are.
He stayed for a cool off
and drying off in the sun.
So warm in the sun.
What do you think of my tiny house made out of a tree stump paddle pop sticks and gutter guard mesh
It's for my garden fairies.
But it has disappeared will show you next time.
We got puddles very quickly and leaves lots of wind .
All over very quickly but at least it's cooler now.
You can see it was hot the beer fairy is shirtless, we had to rush round and close all the windows now time to open them all again, a nice southerly is blowing.
My ceiling fan was on all day today.
I have heard that moulting can be a dreadful time for chickens. Hopefully Drummy has a 'light dose'.
ReplyDeleteLove, as always your garden - and the ceiling mouldings are special too.
I heard that they do it every year but I think she missed out last year.

ReplyDeleteYaayyy for those cooling rains...
Now this post may interest you; pretty much says exactly what you need to hear!
Meanwhile, here in Edinbugh, weatherman just threatened us with more snow.... YAM xx
Oh dear you have all had a lot of snow, spring is coming.
DeleteI hate to tell you but they were saying we would have a mild winter but what do they know.
Merle..............
CRIKEY ... The beer fairy looks happy to see the southerly buster, aye? We heard about the storm you had on the news. It was a bit intense, aye? You look as if you survived unscathed! It was hot alright today!
ReplyDeleteNo damage done here and our roof didn't leak so I think it's working well.
DeleteYes it was hot, too hot.
Merle...............
After watching the tv news of a sad story of a two year old killed here by a falling tree, your post made me smile. The garden is as lush and rambling as ever. You are ahead of yourself. It is still the the 1st of March.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right I am a day ahead of myself.
DeleteTalking about rambling the pumpkin vine has taken over the top garden lots of flowers but not much else yet.
Merle................
Hello from down under.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
Your garden is looking very green still, so summer hasn't been too bad. We had a little rain yesterday too, I think about ten fat drops splattered on my path and then it was over, quite disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know chooks got moody when they moulted. Had a giggle at the shirtless beer fairy!
Shirtless men there are a lot of them around here and it is very funny sometimes as they are all round and getting on a bit, but that never worries them mucho.
DeleteI hope it is just the moulting as it might be she is getting near the end of her life, we don't know how old she is as she just wondered in off the street.
Merle...........
It's pouring snow here; I'm going to believe you that it's the first day of spring and it will be all over tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about Drummy; tell her how beautiful she will be soon.
No more snow I've put the request in for you, here is hoping it works.
DeleteMerle.............
Poor Drummy! Sending good vibes her way.
ReplyDeleteShe thanks you.
DeleteMerle.........
Glad you got that breeze coming through!! Your husband looks thrilled! I do hope that Drummy feels better soon! And that it cools off by you though your garden still looks so beautiful friend! Happy new week ahead! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled too it was so humid, you would sweat while sitting still.
DeleteMerle............
Merle, I'd love to see the tiny house you make for the fairies when you're finished. I wonder what's going on with Drummy, poor thing. wow, it's the last day of summer there, and spring is on its way here. Those sundials are so cool, and they really do work!
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid week, Merle.

Mine does in full sun .
ReplyDeleteI will show the house in the next blog, I lost the picture sometimes I do.
