My daughter would like this growing in her garden, I think it's a herb but not sure what it is can you tell me.
I just liked these walls around the tennis courts even if they are falling down.
This was a tiny cave behind the hotel
Not far from a staff only door, you would have to do some ducking and weaving to get in the door.
A bit more sunshine.
This is strange rock that the back of the hotel is built on.
A huge tree in the grounds, I remember more but maybe they were just too old and died or were cut down.
These two doors made me laugh do they let the smoke out of one and the people out of the other they were just around the corner from each other.
Lovely windows.
Lots of big chairs everywhere I go they must be in right now, this one was a beauty.
The general store across the road and railway tracks.
No big decisions here.

There are holes in the rocks always a bit dicy for foundations I think, but this hotel has been there a lot time.

Hello Merle ..... what a shame the weather wasn't clear for you but then the mist is beautiful too, aye?? Lovely photos. Very different from the ones I take. It's funny how we all look at things differently, aye?? It shows in our photo taking too. Whoops Sorry Charlie!! I know you hate me taking over. It's Lynn, Merle ....... Charlie's Mum.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Merle .... I think I peed on that big tree you're standing in front of!!
Hello Lynn, he does take over, they all do the furry people.
DeleteThats ok Charlie it's a old tree I would say many have peed on it.
Merle........
I missed part one yesterday so had to go back and see even more of your fabulous photos, I really love that strange rock the Hotel is built on and that tiny shallow cave too. And that old iron gate in the stone fence and...and...and, oh everything!
ReplyDeleteThe herb is sage, a member of the Salvia family, of course you know what sage is, it's used in stuffings for chicken or turkey. I have some growing in my garden here, my plants are only tiny yet, but they're doing well. I use the leaves to make tea which I drink with honey.
Two posts in one week it doesn't happen very often but I had lots of photos and a bit to say.

The who vacation seems quite magical, mini or no. Mini magic, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to put it.

The shot through the wall by the tennis courts is spectacular!

Lets hope they don't pull the wall down when they repair the tennis courts.

I looked at a map to see where the hotel is, not far from Katoomba. I saw Minnehaha Falls. We have a Minnehaha in Victoria. The hotel is an interesting mix of old and new and the views are spectacular.
ReplyDeleteIt would make a good base it exploring the area but we went by train and nothing much close by but we only stayed one night. They have having shows lately so that brings more people into the area.

Loving all the photos! And the way you put them all together. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's a lovely area not hard to find things to take.

I really like the photo with the man fern...
ReplyDeleteI had to check do you mean the one with the lone fern on the hillside.

These are lovely pictures today, Merle. Some are very interesting. I did see one of those mow rollers recently. What a cool cave that is, and a nice picture of the yellow wild flowers. Sometimes flowers growing in the wild are the prettiest of all. The cloud pictures I liked the best, and that picture of YOU. I am a polka dot girl too.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day, Merle.
love, ~Sheri
Polka dots are always good.

What a pretty place you were visiting. The photos are lovely and I enjoyed seeing photos of your daughter and yourself.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely place.

What a wonderful tour you gave us, Merle. Thank you so much. So glad you got away. Great photos! Susan
ReplyDeleteI thought the plant was heather. It is hard to tell but it looks bushy and lovely. I hope your vacation was wonderful, it looks a little grey in one photo but the colours are brilliant. :)
