Whats new

A pretty possum lives in my lounge room now I was going to paint him but so far haven't got around to it.
The cows are next to him so they can keep a eye on him.
swapped my small lounge and cupboard over so there is a spot by the fire where I can chat on the phone in winter.

New blind in the spare room.
and Bow Peep was fixing my light it's in the process, a loose wire was the problem but very hard to get in the tiny tiny hole where it is supposed to go.

But he did install a new power point, always handy.
Drummy has dropped all long tail feathers on my mat outside the loo.

She is still strutting but it's not the same you need tail feathers for that, this is a full moult according to friends that have had chickens maybe her first she was very upset for a week but acting more normal now at least she is talking to us.

Big storm last night lots of lightning and thunder it was very scary, I was alone the beer fairy was over at woolworths and another umbrella ended up in the bin all in bits but he got to the shops before the main  storm hit.

Drummy's house has all but gone under the rooftop garden some trimming needed, rather a lot.

The beer fairies pumpkin has taken over.

All drinking bowls filled up thanks to the storm, everyone likes rainwater better than tap water .
All the neighbours have been told that pumpkins will appear on their door steps as we will have lots or maybe not.

Lots of flowers but do they all develop into pumpkins.

The lemon tree is looking a bit better, it has tiny lemons but usually they fall off we will see.
Elections coming up the guy across the road is a Liberal supporter and doesn't care who knows it.
I think they are all hopeless but some one has to run the state.
All the outside damage caused by the storm last night.

Tailless Drummy

My clock fell off the wall in the storm not sure how but the glass is all shattered.

  1. Love your garden. And your house.
Poor Drummy. I hope her new feathers grow in quickly.
And please, send some of that rain up here.

  2. Possibly a thunderclap shook the wall just enough to dislodge the clock, can you get a new glass for it?
Drummy looks a little odd without her tail, but good that she's talking to you again.
Only the female flowers will develop into pumpkins, the flower you have shown us is a male, look inside more of them and you will soon see the difference. If you have insect activity in and on the vine, like bees, butterflies, ants, birds, the female flowers should get fertilised. Without that you might not get pumpkins.

    1. who knows what caused it to fall off but it was a big crash, I could never read it very well but I liked the oddity of it.
Will check out the flowers, have seen a few very little ones at the base of the flowers, tiny tiny pumpkins.

    2. Those would be the female flowers, but if not fertilised those tiny pumpkins won't develop.

  3. If you had anything to do with welcoming us to Sydney with a spectacular lightning show viewed from our hotel balcony, thanks.

    1. It was pretty good wasn't it, better than fireworks. They are tonight if you are near where the big ships are you should see them.
Sent the rain to Elephant's Child.

    1. I once used oils but always got headaches from the smell now I use acrylics if you water them down you get a watercolour effect and straight from the tubes a oil effect and no smell.

Drummy has lost all tail feathers now she has a red bum with just the feather shafts but back to the normal personality.
It's handy to know a handyman and Boo Peep is a pretty good handyman.

  11. Merle, I love big rain storms, but when lightening comes, it's a bit scary. The cow picture is lovely, and I really like that chest with the mirror, it looks like an antique. Your home looks cozy every time I see it, Merle.

    Have a nice weekend.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. The cupboard with the mirror is very old , it was given to us when we were first married 43 years ago boy that's a long time, by The Beer fairy's best man as we had no furniture or not much I stripped it and vanished it the mirror belongs to a old wardrobe the wardrobe fell apart and I liked the mirror on the cupboard so they became mates.
