Last week's events.

Last monday went to the club as usual, but the week before we had missed out and they had changed our bingo area, they are doing changes in our usual area so we in the new upstairs area where they have the live shows, the seats are very small and we never get there early enough to get a table and we are not winning much so the area is missing luck for us but it's not for long so we will hang in there.
This picture is showing you the roof it must give good sound but it looks like cardboard boxes to me.
Kidney just does know if she wants to go inside or out, we just had a mini heat wave for winter the other day we were the same temp as London and they are in high summer,  I am wondering if our summer this year is going to be a very hot one, I hope not.
Our sunny morning tea area.
Afternoons are spent burning off the tree we cut down and bits of wood that has lead paint on it we don't think it's safe in a enclosed areas so we don't burn it in the inside fireplace.
These were once compost bins but they fell apart so I'm cleaning out the area.
Drummy laying a egg, they are few and always in different spots at the moment but as we don't know how old she is maybe she is slowing down.
my elephant needs a clean
On Friday last week I went to visit my friend at Ashfield, this was a old peoples home years ago but now they are building units around the old building as it's protected and there is a fair bit of land, so the old building is staying, I wonder what they will turn it into, not sure if it will all work together.
We had lunch and home made biscuits, very nice too.
Her mum was a bit cold, me too, this was before our warm days.
we both took pictures of the biscuits, they were very good.
She gave me some plants for my daughters place out the front, her house is very close to the city and the front yard is tiny with very little sun  so the Broms and lilies do well here but flowers don't do so well.

I spent Friday night at her place and she planted out everything on the Saturday morning.
Then we went to a nearby cafe for breakfast, for me that's unusual as there are no cafe's near my place but where she lives there are many and close by too so we walked.

So I took photos on the walk home.

  2. That's nice that you went to a café for breakfast with your friend, Merle. It's funny to hear that you're in winter there. We are in full summer, and it's very hot lately. Oh, that elephant of yours is so cute. Your tea area is charming, and the sunflower would make me smile every day.

Hope your week is a good one.

    1. Eating out for breakfast is very different.
The sunflower is not a real one, I have two fake ones, it is the middle of winter and they are not in flower then but yes I'm very fond of them.

  3. That sunny spot looks so pleasant. I think hens can live ten or more years, especially well cared for hens like Drummy.

  6. Ashfield looks interesting, with a mix of different types of properties. Used to be a cheaper area, I think. Not so now.

    1. Most of the houses were in Petersham and that's not a cheap area along with Ashfield any more most of Sydney is expensive now, very overpriced.

    1. Not allowed in summer but in winter our council does't mind too much, they prefer you keep your yards clear of garden rubbish but some Sydney council do not allow any burning at all.

  18. Hey, Merle, I looked it up. You have a Constitution AND a Preamble, all right... but there's a reason Aussies don't memorise this in the second/ third grade: http://australianpolitics.com/constitution-aus/text/preamble

    It's kinda lonnng.

  19. I looked it up too and it's a bit of a ramble and rather long we wouldn't have much to do with it but one thing I do know if our Prime Minster goes over the line too far he can be sacked as that has happened in my lifetime.
