Its been holding the bogie up and is a mass of flowers in the spring and summer, pity but they will have to go, well the dead tree will but the bogie will recover.
Pidge was sitting up here looking around, he looked very regal but the moment I picked up the camera he took off, he's a bit camera shy.
My seat is taken, guess who and sound asleep.
New clock for outside.
The pole outside was taken down, they replaced it months ago but just left it there, of course I missed it, it took about 10 mts to take down but they must have talked about it for over a year.
My Bird of Paradise, lovely thing.
The herb garden is not looking too good at the moment but it is winter and some one furry likes the spot for snoozing, will have to move out for spring.
Head down tail up can't stop I'm looking for worms.
My barbque and clothes line area need a lot of work this spring,
There is lots of sun up the back now since we took out the other tree, it will be hot in summer.
It's feeding time and we want it now, please.
Ok you can bugger off now we are eating.
Finely got a picture of Pidge sitting on the drinking bowl but not as regal as the other day.
And here is the clock all set up and working.
Had to ask for help the drill was smoking and not doing very much it turns out it was running backwards, the bit broke but we found another small one and that did the job.
The clock has two sides so you can see the time from the end of the garden.
Here is the base of that tree, not to stable, there is a pole holding it up at the moment.
Time for a coffee I think.
Hi Merle, thanks for the tour of your garden. I always love the critters, Pidge and Drummy are favorites.I like your new clock. Sorry about loosing the tree, I hope it will not be too much trouble taking it down. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was killed a year or so ago when the builders hit a tap root, it was never very big and lots of branches fell off so only really the trunk left so not much trouble.

ReplyDeleteLove the clock! Oh my goodness though, shame about the tree, but rather take it down on your own terms than have it tumble and terrify! Will you plant another tree in place? YAM xx
I was pleased with the clock too.
DeleteNo more trees on that side of the yard, too much sun lost.
Merle........
What a great selection of photos. The clock is good. Sorry, but I don't understand what bogie means?
ReplyDeleteIt's boganvilla but I can't spell it and it's not in the dictionary.
DeleteMerle........
your yard did well over winter,, too bad the tree has to go though, you will miss the shade,,
ReplyDeletePidge is a beauty and I lov the herb garden decoration, wish I had one, lol
The clock you put up is a beauty!!!!
This winter was cold and as a lot of my stuff likes heat a few things fell by the wayside not as cold as you all had last winter in your country.
DeleteMerle.......
What a job it will be to take down the tree. Will you have it done professionally?
ReplyDeleteMost likely if we don't it will fall, it's doing that slowly now.
DeleteMerle.......
The clock, that's a great big one, I like it.
ReplyDeleteTrees, oh my that will be bare when gone..
My that was a long time to remove a pole. Could have had a birthday :) or another birthday!
I think all those things are done by contractors in Sydney now and it takes much longer.
DeleteMerle.......
Loving your garden. And the clock.
ReplyDeleteI very fond of the clock too.
DeleteMerle............
Love the clock! Is that one of those ones available sometimes at Post Offices?
ReplyDeleteThe rest of your garden is wonderful, so many little nooks and crannies, chairs everywhere to rest on, I like that trio of gnomes near Pidge's drinking bowl.
I got the clock from Bunnings but have seen the ones you are talking about but this one is smaller I think.
ReplyDeleteI need all those chairs.
Those gnomes are having a union meeting but the middle one is always drunk he has trouble standing up.
Merle............
What a beautiful Bird of Paradise...
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
Hugs madi
This plant is about 10 years old and doen't flower very often but latelt it's gone mad.
DeleteMerle..........
A wonderful set of photos. Shame about the tree. Greetings!
ReplyDeleteHello nice to heard from you.
DeleteMerle.............
Your garden looks like a great place to sit with a cuppa. The clock is awesome.
ReplyDeleteLunch is often in the garden but Drummy always begs food.
DeleteMerle...............
Beautiful photos, Merle! Love the sleep cat...they really show us how to relax. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing and restful beings not to mention lazy.
DeleteMerle.......
What a regal clock. Wish I could leave a clock outside. We are about to
ReplyDeleteswitch seasons. I'm letting the chickens run freely in the yard. They cause a little havoc in the flower beds but that's OK. They also cultivate and fertilize
for me. LOL
Hi Merle, too bad about the tree, but it is good that you can save the bogie. Pidge and Drumstick are nice friends to have around for bugs and entertainment! Funny how cats can find the most comfortable spot to sleep and who wants to disturb them, because then you have to feed them! Cute photos. Coffee in your pretty garden sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteI've lost two trees this year and have cut down another one a few days ago.
DeleteMerle...........
Thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks to you too.
DeleteMerle.........
Looks good!
ReplyDeleteA lot to do before summer.
DeleteMerle..........
Merle, on a trip to So. Cal one time, I saw a lot of these "birds of paradise." They fascinate me because they look like they have personalities of their own. They really are an unusual flower, aren't they? This is a nice picture of the pigeon on the drinking bowl. It's always fun to see what's going on in your world, Merle.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Very unusual flower.
