Odds and ends.

Walking around our local streets  I like the tree trunks for some reason, this is a wonderful stringy bark much larger than the others nearby and oh so shady.
The two story house is in a backyard our blocks are big and a lot of people have built a second house to rent out or for the children to move in after they get married.
These street trees are always in flower but past their prime at the moment.
I like the gardens on the street side but don't plant anything exotic as someone will come along and pinch it.

This palm tree was just cut off poor thing it looks a bit sad.

Not sure why their is picture of my rubbish bags oh I painted the bottom half of my kitchen wall, all white kitchens are nice but they get so dirty always washing down the wall.
The Beer Fairy just finishing the mulching.

Cracks in my ceiling hoping it will solve the problem when the roof is fixed, my workmen are due today or tomorrow.
Finished my blanket using up most of my odd balls of wool.
Now making a mat with this very thick wool.

  1. I have many photos of tree trunks too, I like them, they're so sturdy. I like the idea of another house in a backyard, if the block is big enough that each can still have some garden, it's a much better idea than a big block of ugly flats.
That is a sad looking palm trunk, but the tree behind it is gorgeous!!
Your blanket turned out well, and I like the mat you have started. I used the same type of thick wool a couple of years ago and made a couple of really long scarves, in shades of grey blue and purple. I think I showed a photo on the blog as I was making them.

    1. Funny I've always liked the trunks better than the trees, just something odd about me.
A lot of our blocks are big and can do two houses with small gardens and a lot of people build for there children after they marry it's a winner for all the young couple have a baby sitter at all times and the older couple have help in the house as they age.
I missed the scarves maybe you can show them again.

  3. Crikey Merle .... I like tree trunks too. Where would a bloke be without a tree trunk or two? Mum's like you. She likes looking at 'em and taking photos. That one in your neighbourhood is very attractive. I'd sure like to pee on it. That poor palm tree does look a bit sad but maybe they left it there for blokes like me, aye?? Thanks for the stroll around the neighbourhood. I sure enjoyed it.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed the tree trunks.
When Angus visits he pees on all of them, going for a walk is often slow going.

Yup, I'm another who loves a trunk or tree......hehehe... the crepe myrtles are always pretty, but the flowers never seem to last long... their trunks are so sleek - total opposite of the stringy bark! Like the colours in your mat... YAM xx

  5. The very first tree resembles a shag bark hickory, in its bark.
