A morning of chainsawing and shredding and some rather odd paintings.

Boo peep turned up with some frames for me only thing they are huge and the paintings are still in them, he said just paint over them but I don't know should you do that. two are prints and one not signed so thats ok  but the two middle ones are signed so I'm not sure, what do you think.

Wheelbarrow trouble, loose wheel but soon fixed, of course a little help from me was needed one being right handed and one being left most things are possible.
Is this chicken putting on weight she looks a lot fatter to me.

A couple of hours cutting tree branches and shredding, the chain saw works very well since the blades were sharpened.
And all the bricks were moved in the wheel barrow.

Two branches had to go they were not too healthy and one keep hitting me on the head and as I shorter than everyone else besides my daughter in law, there could have been a nasty accident.

Lots of shredding for the garden

Such hot work maybe he is saluting I'm not sure.
A man and his shredder.
Sorry if this turns out small I 've pressed a button somewhere and everything is reduced.

  1. It's come out the usual size on my screen, it will only be small on your computer. To increase size again press control and + (together) until it gets back to the size you like.
I wouldn't paint over a signed painting, but you could put a painting of your own in the frame and leave the original behind yours.
Drummy does look lovely and plump, perhaps she has reached her full growth now that she is getting regular good feed.
I think the beer fairy is doing a great job with the saw and shredder, you'll be safer now without that branch knocking your head.

    1. My blog has come out regular size too, my computer guy was around the other day and speeded everything up which is much better maybe this is just a something he changed.
I was glad to get the branch fixed every time I combed my hair bits of tree fell out.

  2. I am not keen on any of the pictures. They seem a bit contrived and obvious. But then I do not have any sort of artistic eye. Sorry, but as soon as I read plump chicken I thought of roast chicken (forgive me, dinner is nearly on the table and I am hungry) Is the beer fairy wiping sweat from his brow or trying to hide himself from omnipresent camera lens?

    1. I agree the pictures look like they came from a painting factory.
Must admit I'm very fond of roast chicken but can no longer eat it outside, makes me feel guilty.
I think he is posing he usually does, not shy at all.

  3. I guess I don't feel qualified to comment about the pictures.
Drummy looks plump and healthy. My chickens look plump too and I always wonder if they are too fat. I read they can get egg-bound if they're too fat.

How nice to have a chain saw. I trimmed the lower branches off of 10 middle-size evergreen trees with a limb saw. It took me forever and I had sore hands for days. Nice job.

  4. I say paint over them ,lol, I know very well the desire to paint and if it was me and I wanted to paint I would just paint right over them, I suppose that might not be everyones choice,, but I have done it a few times, that garden shredder is an amazing tool!

  5. The paintings have a Asian feeling Merle. Perhaps you could choose the least attractive to you and paint over?
I noticed your shredder, very nice and it seems the Beer Faerie and ex-RAF flyboy use the same chainsaw!
Here we are on the Pacific NW coast preparing for Winter and you are doing Spring clearing! The oddities of life!
Hugs to our favourite Australian Corgi!

  6. A shredder, that's what we need. I thought by brother in law had every tool under the sun, but we still are buying mulch. I'll talk to him.
You're right, Drummy is fattening up. Who's feeding her? I'd look around.

...Not pregnant is she?? Hehehehe silly YAM....

I'm with River on the paintings. Even when signed ones are not to taste, someone has put their heart into them; putting your own into the frame solves that one. None of them is a match for your stuff though Merle! YAM xx

  8. Merle,
I like the first painting with the hut, it looks tropical. I have several pictures that I don't know what I'm going to do with because we downsized into a smaller home. I still have to put a few of them up. Pictures definitely make a home, don't they? Your husband is busy outside trying to spruce up the tree for you, that's nice. It's always good to see Drumstick. :~)

    Have a good weekend, Merle.

  9. Even the great artists painted over things. Mostly their own, but they didn't have any qualms about it. I would though. Prints? No problem. Signed paintings? Hmm.
Drummy does look to be putting on some condition. Winter will do that...

  10. Hi Merle... I think maybe you could take them out of the frames , turn them around and paint on the back of them and re frame them......

  11. I would check online to see if you can find the artist's name online. A lot of those look like the shop variety where they paint them in sequence in warehouses with each person doing a part of the painting...and then the last one in line signs it. They used to do those "shows" around here all the time.

Your blog looks the same size to me as always. xo Diana

    1. I can't read the names and a lot of the paint is coming off, I thing you are right, I would say about 4 layers on the thickest areas maybe 4 painters.

  12. I would try to sell the signed ones on Ebay and paint over the rest. Just sayin'. I do think Drummy is fatter, for sure. It's all those nice garden plants and bread crumbs..... Looks like you have been busy - the garden looks nice and tidy. My Mr. would love a shredder. I would never get him to come inside....that might be a good thing :) He's grumpy today. xo Karen
