Drumstick lays 4 eggs and Bow peep & the Beer Fairy look for the missing sheep.

W
I know this is not world breaking news to anyone but me but I  was so excited when I found 4 eggs in the garden I woke the beer fairy and almost rang my children but maybe no one else feels the same. I have never had anything to do with a chicken before so to me this was very exciting, I had scrambled eggs for lunch yesterday they were yummy, I had to share with the beer fairy.
I was trying to take a close up of kidney, she wasn't happy about this.
and just wouldn't look at the camera.

Painting my terra cotta pots red
and replanting and dividing my brom's.
Now this is interesting drumstick likes milk, I always had a milk water mixture for Kidney but now she  has to get there first or the chicken get it.
Angus has been here for a couple of extra days this week as his people are moving into their new home.
The chicken has been shut in to the top garden,  Angus is very interested in her but she doesn't like him at all so best to keep them separated.

Angus and the beer fairy discussing world politics, I really should paint the shed, there were plants there and I painted around them.
I did clean my sun dial.
He is a pretty boy.
Here we have Bow Peep,  him and the Beer Fairy are poping down to his farm to look for the missing sheep 3 have turned but three are still missing.
I repainted some of the little men in the garden a couple more to go.

Not sure but think he is having a cap nap.
Now they are discussing world events or what they are having for breakfast.
well that's settled it's sausages and eggs.

  1. You should feel very proud of your eggs...very nearly self sufficient!
I guess the chicken is enjoying the calcium from the milk...then she'll turn it into eggshell. One good turn deserves another!

  3. Jane got it, I'm sure; Drumstick is looking for calcium. My only laying bird experience is a finch, long ago, and she needed calcium to keep egg shells forming.

  7. Having fresh eggs laid for you is brilliant. What's all the muck on them though? Of course, I forgot they come out like that.

  9. Four eggs! she's obviously happy living with you. The calcium in the milk will be good for her. Can you get her some shell grit from the supermarket or pet shop? I've heard it's good for the shells on the eggs. I love your sundial and the little toadstools everywhere. I'm thinking I may paint a few of my pots red, I have some black plastic ones that I got for free and I'd like them red. And I'd better get busy potting up my tomato seedlings before it's too late.

  19. I would be crazy excited if I had chickens and I found eggs. We just finished off the 1 dozen brown, green and blue (a variety, not variegated) eggs from a friend who has chickens. There is something so special about homegrown/raised food.

  20. Hi Merle, I hope the Beer Fairy and Bo Peep can solve the world's problems soon - somebody needs to. Hope those 3 sheep turn up soon. Fresh eggs are the best - love your red pots and that little red polka dot mushroom is charming. I had a cat just like Kidney - they could be identical, his name was Ninky because he was so stinky that your nose wrinkled up and when you tried to say Stinky, it came out Ninky. Anyway, always love to come for a visit - lots of fun. xo Karen

  21. The worlds problems are still the same, worse luck no sheep found yet, no more eggs yet but it rained for the last four days and Angus was here for a few days or I haven't found them.
Love that name for your cat always good if there is a story behind it.
