A red door and new neighbours.

We are putting in a solid door to the back of our house for years we had a internal door you know the type, thin layer of plywood and a cardboard centre but I've done something nasty to my back and nothing has been done for three days now, as the beer fairy was helping the next door neighbour put things in her roof storage and he has had sore legs for a couple of days too, boy are we getting old.
As you can see not much activity at all.
Nope nothing happening.
Kidney saying get up you lazybones.
The other side is orange and is in need of a paint too but now it's been cut to the right size and length it was in my sons place so he gave it to us as we have been going to replace the door for 20 years nothing happens fast around here.
but my frangipanni [how do you spell that ] is shooting.
And I have got 1 strawberry so far and fresh herbs.
Bogie is flowering

This is the block next door behind the blue fence nothing left.
Not even any lawn
just a bit of grass round the sides, no building yet was surposed to start last week according to the owners.
Well I did start to paint my fence.

Next door is renting her house out and going home to her parents for a year, she works for the state government and her hours have been cut so she is having trouble with affording the repayments, seeing we have a liberal state and federal government I thing this will be more common  as the cut back on most things to save more money so they can give themselves a pay rise.
This house just down the road is for sale too it just happened the other day, so in the seven houses in our block on this side of the road 3 are getting new owners or tenants hope they are all nice.

Door still here

Bye now.

Oh Merle - changes in the street can be unsettling - but not as much as that empty space beside you. I do hope things move quickly there at least. Even if within your boundaries the pace is of a different world altogether!

Now what's this about your back? Having been away I missed something I think. I hope it is a temporary state and a month of good rest will restore it?? The garden will hold its own till then. The frangipani (you were very close &*>) looks very promising - you may even get a few blooms this summer! Keep well. YAM xx

    1. I like having a vacant lot next door is so nice and peaceful,I was telling the owner he lives the other side that we should put in a swimming pool and garden.
The frangipani is only two years old, I had a couple of flowers last year not very many.
The back is very painful happens every now and again.

  2. Your poor back. I hope it gets better soon.
I am loving wandering around in your garden - and the frangipani looks great. Woohoo.
Your health comes first - so let everything wait until you are better.

  4. Red doors are intriguing. There is always something mysterious about them. Will the red door still be there for the next round of garden photos? Haha.

I LOVE that!! Let things evolve slowly I say. No good comes of rushing things. The world is in so much hurry these days, what for? take some time. Sit and dream a bit.

  9. Lots of good things happening in your garden, Merle! I know that red door will eventually get installed - we have much the same philosophy - eventually is the word! (As I look at the stack of boards sitting on my deck for two years that is supposed to be my bedroom ceiling) Hope your back gets feeling better soon and you get some nice neighbors. Our nice neighbor has her farm up for sale and we noticed the sign has been taken down since yesterday, so we will get new neighbors, too. I think our government is run by the same folks as yours. :( Can't wait for the next election! Hugs xoxo

    1. Do you have a ceiling in your bedroom or are you renewing it.
All governments are run by fools but we do vote for them so I'm not sure where we are in all this.

  14. Good Evening Merle!
It is scarie when getting new neighbors!! Rental or owners - though you always wish for owners. Seem to take better care of their home!! Like your red door!! Our last cottage had a read door! this one we have now is glass - so the outside ofit is grey.

    1. We are not getting owners the owner lives on the other side of the block so we know the building will not be too noisy because he has to put up with it too.

  19. I don't know where I've been hanging out but I almost missed you.
I love the fragrance of the frangipani oil. I've never seen the plant. I use that fragrance in my soap making. It will be interesting to see what kind of house is going up next to you.

    1. The smell of the frangipani is amazing when in flower, my son has a huge one at his place, mine are not that old so I don't get that many flowers but I have a pink one that's lovely to look at but not so much perfumeas the yellow one.
