Lost a tree in a big storm

We had a big storm yesterday I was watching the rain feeling very happy about it when the tree down the side the one we sit under on hot hot days slowly fell over I was so amazed you expect a crash when a tree goes but this went silent and in slow motion very gently no damage done to our place or the place next door but a lot of tree to cut up and mulch and when the storm passed it was super hot and humid not fun to cut and much in that weather. This was how it looked a few days ago a great place for coffee and watching the world go by,  cool and shady, not so now.

The tree was growing through the concrete amazing really we had cut it back a few years back but it reshot and was looking healthy .

The Beer fairy was up on the next door neighbours roof chopping back branches then the trusty chain saw did the rest.

This is the tree stump it had grown up through the concrete and over the top I want to make something out of it but so far nothing comes to mind.

The drive way is a bit of a mess but will mulch it all in the next day or two.

That makes a big difference to that space!!! It's good you got rain, but such storms are nearly as bad as the fires... YAM xx

  4. Glad there was no damage. How amazing that it was a 'gentle' fall.
We lost some tree dahlias and some branches in a recent wind storm and are still hanging out for rain. None forecast though.

  8. I think you are very fortunate to have escaped damage. This really is a case of all's well that ends well.

  9. That's sad that your tree fell and the shady nook has been affected. Perhaps a pergola covered with shade cloth could help.

    1. That was our summer spot because of the breeze up the driveway.

  10. Or maybe shade sails might work.

  11. Gosh if that tree had been in a different place it could have done a lot of damage as often trees do. However, I do love trees.

  12. So sad to lose a tree, but good that it went slow and quiet with no damage done. Could the beer fairy angle cut the two stumps to fit a chair seat onto them? Or a mini table top, to sit a pot plant on?

  13. loosing tree near by is sad always dear Merle !

i am sorry storm pulled down the tree ,i know how it feels ,it is like loosing a friend to whom used to have deep connection

this is relief that falling did not caused any harm as it happens in such cases
i think you can create a part of furniture out of it like small table or chair
you r image with cat at side bar is just adorable :)
