Return to winter but won't last long.

What happened to spring, kidney is cold so she parked herself on the hot water system it's mildly warm, must be just enough to warm the tum.
I'm pulling up my tiles in the laundry they were laid many years ago by drunken people, I think I could have done a better job they often pop off and have always been a bit on the hilly side now I know why they were laid over a cement slab with groves in it this may take some time as I think I've reached the end of the easy ones.
Who needs brooms Drummy is in the kitchen cleaning up.
Back to fires at night not that I mind the Beer Fairy cuts all the wood, I just dose in front of the  TV after dinner.
Remember I bought this material a few weeks back, I made a quilt cover .
There is a bit left over so I will make some pillow cases out of it.
Spent the last couple of days in here too cold outside.

I am looking for a new chair but this one is nice to sit in so maybe not.
 Still my favourite painting.
 I like this one too.
Me and the beer fairy on our wedding day, it looks nothing like us.
That bed looks inviting maybe a afternoon nap.
maybe not it is hard to sleep at night if I doze the afternoon away
My daughter, looks nothing like her but I have trouble getting the likeness in my paintings but do like doing people.
It's so gloomy not raining but maybe soon it will be.

  1. You'll probably get the rain after we've finished with it. We've been having mostly night time rain with grey days, but we're expecting sunshine by the weekend.
I love your favourite painting, houses and trees are two of my favourite things.
Hope you manage to get those laundry tiles up.

    1. The beer fairy is helping and I'm not in a hurry but it's a hard job moving tiles, just a bit a day.
I put some washing on so of course it is now raining a bit.

  4. You are correct about the paintings, the likeness is not there, Yes, get rid of the bathroom floor and put down a new one, As for beds, always make sure the guest bed is not too comfortable.

    1. If I paint a face and it looks human I happy with that.
It might take a long time to do the floor.
I only have short term guests, not the best cook in the world most people are happy to go home after a few days.

  7. SO many things in your pics as always. Beautiful quilt cover. And it looks like such a pleasant sitting room in that picture with the red curtains. Wish there were a way to train Drummy to get the tiles up for you since he's so good at kitchen-cleaning. :)

  8. Hi Merle! You are so talented and gifted with your painting! Each one is so beautiful.

You always make me smile when you share pictures of your cute cats - I love the one of Kidney sitting on the water heater :)

    Hugs to you!

  12. Kidney seems to have the right idea - park yourself someplace warm and wait it out! I like your new bed cover and it is perfect for spring. My cockatiel likes to peck around the kitchen floor, too, but he is small so I have to be careful where I step. I think there are flocks of them in Australia, I am told. I love your paintings and I got a laugh out of you saying they look nothing like you or the family. I try to sketch my family and the same thing happens. I think I have laid tile when I was drunk......:) An awful job when you are on the floor all day. Takes a drink or two to finish. Hope it warms up soon for you and Kidney. xo Karen

    1. If only spring would come more rain today.
We do have huge flocks of birds of all shapes and sizes, more inland than Sydney but we have a few wild birds that live in our garden they come in to eat Pidge's and Drummy's food and spend the days in our trees seeing we have 4 cats it shows how lazy the cats are or well feed.

    1. Cats are much smarter than us, we feed them and look after them and they only spend time with us when it suits them.

  14. So many great photos, nice to see your corner of the world. The tiles must be very difficult to remove, I had to laugh at your comment the tiles were laid by drunks....at least they laid them in a straight line. I enjoyed seeing the photos on your sidebar a trip down memory lane. I too find it difficult to capture faces in painting, I can paint the face, but it looks like someone else....I think the eyes are the most important part.
