  1. I love that Drumstick invited a friend home. There is certainly an invisible sign on our door which says 'cat suckers live here'. Perhaps you have one which says 'Any chook is welcome'?

    1. I'm wondering if they do know each other and Drummy invited her.
The guy up the back had chickens and a rooster and they went we thought he ate them but maybe they all moved out but now I'm keeping the side gate shut.

The cluck has gone out, the Drum has been banged... best place in town!! Wing does look as if may have been underfed which could be a clue as to why she arrived. They both appear to have had their beaks trimmed so could have indeed been from the same original home. They are super lucky to have you! YAM xx

    1. That was our lovely Gargye, she passed away a few years ago, she came to live with us when we had 3 dogs {they were very old dogs} but she was the boss.

  6. Nice psychedelic background Merle!
So have you adopted Wing Commander as well? Drumstick must like to have a friend. I marvel that you have chickens (in the suburbs?) considering we cannot have them on this island! I am not sure however that Mac the corgi would take to them too well even if we could!
    Hugs to Angus!

    1. We will have to lock them up when Angus comes to visit.
He likes his alone time and get cranky if he is annoyed too much.

  9. Merle,
You have a new visitor! Drumstick has a new friend and I bet that makes her so happy.

I really like your new blog design. It's so cheerful and pretty. You know, I've heard that orange is the happiest color, and I think that's true. Great job picking this one out. Me and the girls change ours every year, so around May we will get a new one too.

Have a good rest of the week.

    Love,
    ~Sheri

  11. Two chickens now! You and the beer fairy can each have an egg for breakfast now.
That's a fine looking house next door, I hope they make at least a little bit of garden when they move in.

  12. Better be careful. Might be accused of being a chicken thief. Haha
I wish a chicen would wander in my yard. I want fresh eggs in the morning. That's so cute as they are certainly the same breed.

    1. That is so funny being a chicken thief, I never knew how strong minded a chicken was if they didn't like a place I would imagine they would leave if they could.
