REPLACING THE LIGHTS AND A 60 YEAR MODEL.

MY HOUSE HAD SOME VERY STRANGE LIGHT FITTINGS, I THING THEY WERE ALL REPLACED IN THE 60'S THEY WERE A BIT ODD BUT I NEVER GOT ROUND TO CHANGING THEM BUT WHEN MY SON WAS DOING HIS RENOVATIONS HE REPLACED ALL HIS  LIGHT FITTINGS SO HE GAVE THEM TO ME, THEY FIT THE PERIOD OF MY PLACE. THIS ONE I WANT TO REPLACE WITH  THE SHADE IN THE NEXT PICTURE.

SO THATS ALL READY TO BE PUT UP NOW.

THESE ARE THE GLASS SHADES ON ANOTHER ONE,  I THINK THEY ARE VERY PRETTY BUT THERE ARE FIVE OF THEM IN ONE FITTING, TOO MUCH  LIGHT SO THEY ARE VASES AT THE MOMENT TO HOLD FAKE FLOWERS YOU CAN'T USE REAL ONES BECAUSE THEY DON'T HOLD WATER.

I MADE THIS IT'S A BIT ODD TOO BUT IT GOES WITH THE CURTAINS.

AND I MADE THIS ONE TOO, IT DOESN'T GO WITH ANYTHING BUT GIVE A NICE BLUE GLOW WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON.

THIS ONE IS VERY ODD BUT I LIKE IT.

THESE ARE THE OTHER THREE, MAYBE I COULD PUT CANDLES IN THEM.

THIS IS WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE WHEN AL TOGETHER.

THIS ONE WAS REPLACED A FEW WEEKS BACK.

NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WITH THIS ANY IDEAS.

THIS IS THE 60 YEAR MODEL IN A BEST AND LESS CATALOGUE I GOT IN THE MAIL TODAY, I THINK SHE LOOKS PRETTY GOOD.
WE HAVE JUST STARTED GETTING FATTER PEOPLE AS MODELS AND NOW OLDER ONES IT'S ABOUT TIME  AS WE DO ALL COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES AND AGES AND IF THEY GO FOR FAT OLD MODELS I CAN SIGN UP.

I DO THINK THIS IS A CREATION AND A HALF WHAT DO YOU THINK.

  5. Love your lights and their shades!!! From what I can see of your home it is a style of an era that I love! I am not into chrome and glass...it's just not me.

The models look terrific and yes, I agree, we need a more realistic mind for what people look like!

  7. Hi Merle, love the variety of light shades! The 60 yr model looks great. I think they should use more everyday people of all sizes and shapes.

    1. I do too, it is more realistic to show clothes on everyday people as you get some idea of what you will look like in them.

You have some of the most creative lighting! I do like the paper lantern one and I'm pretty sure you could find some fun DIYs on Pinterest for ideas on what to do with your light fixture.

  11. I love the first light fitting. It is a classic. We once had similar ceilings and no matter how many times we painted them, they would quickly start peeling. We then painted them with a gloss oil paint, and then a couple of coats of water based paint, and they never peeled again.

    1. That light fitting was here when we moved in, there were others but they were just too bright, three of the long globes produce a blast of light when you turn the light on, thats why I never replaced the missing one.
