YUM CHOU and a new lamp

My lamp I think it's great,

This Howdini  one of the new cats she has moved out from under the bed to on top of it.

The pictures are not good she does sit still, the other one is still under the bed , she is  Howdini's sister and they both look the same.

On the weekend my son and daughter in law moved up to Brisbane with all their furniture and the rest of their cats so we went out for yum chou for breakfast /lunch on Sunday, this is my daughter.

and my daughter in law.

and my son.

My family are a bit mad I said I wanted some photos so they all got out phones and took photo so I took photos of them taking photos so that makes me a bit mad too.

    1. Hi Barb,
I can't get the video to work, so I can't see it. It comes up as a missing plug in here.

  6. Cats are very entertaining for sure! Pretty lamp and I'm looking forward to seeing the gray blue room reveal. I recently painted over yellow... I loved the yellow but needed a change.

    1. Hi Sherry
I was surprised how hard it was to cover the yellow, it shows a bit will have to give it another coat .

  7. Hey Merle! Nice to meet you! I had to google Brisbane to find out where it was. I love the video so I can hear those accents. Everyone has always said I lived in my own world and that's where Wendys World came from. Looks like you have a sweet family. I'd love to find some good yum chou. We haven't found good asian cooking since we moved to New Mexico. I haven't given up yet.

    1. Hi Wendy,
Nice to meet you, I got the name for my blog because my daughter put all my strange or unusual things I said or did down on her blog under merlesworld so I pinched the name, she no longer has a blog so that's ok.
My daughter in law is from Hong Kong so she tells me whats in the dishes so I don't end up with things I don't like, my favourite is the mango pancakes, they are good.

  8. Love the pretty new lamp, Merle.
The scene on it is lovely!
I'm usually the one pulling out a camera around here..everyone else just groans when they see me reach for it.
I have NO IDEA what their problem is???!!! haha!
Looks like you had a fun family time with good food for the farewell brunch.
Hope things go well for them in Brisbane.
    love..Trish xx

  9. Hi Trish,
THe lamp was marked marked $80 and I had May with me and she got him down to $50 so I was pleased with that. all the bargaining was done in Chinese, she is very good at it, we got it in a ceramic shop in Parramatta, they have some great things.

  10. A healthy family with a great sense of humour Merle! I like the lamp, what a find and at such a bargain price!
I noticed your bamboo...Black bambo? There is a lot of that here on the island and to eradicate it, it's a major undertaking!
    Hugs Dear!

  11. I don't think mine is black bamboo, it's the clumping sort not the spreading one it's been in the same spot for about 15 years now.
