Leroy dreaming and a hot day in the garden

It was a very hot Saturday afternoon and leroy spent it sleeping on the lounge daydreaming.

What do you think she is dreaming about here.

We are very hot and our tummy needs cooling.
I was out working in the garden moving the pot plants around to get them out of the sun.

some are doing ok  in the heat

We are having a heatwave all this week about 35to 41c or about 106f.

so I'm trying to save the garden as best I can.

All the plants and bushes that are planted into the garden I will try and keep damp and they will have to fend for themselves.

Some seem to be fond of the heat and taking over.

others not so much.

I have had this a week and a bit and I don't think it will make it. I have it sitting in a bowl of water but it might be too late, the sun cooked it and it was sitting under a tree.

  2. Leroy has the right idea for a hot afternoon! A nap sounds like a good thing to do! Our high temp for today is supposed to be 47 F. A nap under a cozy warm blanket seems like a nice idea for me, too. I am blogging again, so hope you will visit me again. Enjoy your warm ( hot ) day!! Shannon

    1. HI Shannon,
I read your comment quickly and for a minute saw 47but that's f so thats just above freezing, so cold no wonder you want a cozy warm blanket. Think of us today at 43c thats well over the hundred in f so so hot and our country is on fire with bush fires everywhere.

  5. Maybe we could trade weather patterns for awhile. I'll "suffer" with the 106 degree F heat, and you can have my cold 35 to 45 degree winter. :) Actually, I love warmer weather, but 106 is a bit much.

We have a cat, Rosemary that likes to lie on her back too just like yours. I have no idea what cat's think about when they sleep. I think it would be kind of strange to find out.

Your garden looks like it's holding pretty well. The plants in our backyard are not very happy, as the cold weather usually "does them in" til the weather warms-up.

    Blessings!

    1. Yes weather is mad at the moment, warm sunny days cool night with a shower every other day would be nice but it's not often like that. Everything seems ok and today is cooler.

  6. During one heat wave all my wisteria melted and didn't come back for many months. Even my hibiscus died this summer when we had 100 degree heat constantly.

  7. My wisteria has lost all it's flowers but it only had a couple, it's a newish plant from a cutting from my sons garden. My hibiscus is flowering madly so it's doing well this year so far.
