I ran out of furniture polish so guess what I have some Olive Oil cooking spray I don't often use so that is my new furniture polish.
So I tried the floor
This is before
This is after who knows how long it will last but it has no smell which is good.
My christmas tree not big but it is pretty.
And it has a very dull star on top.

ReplyDeleteMum used to use linseed oil on all her furniture, so I guess olive will do!!! Looks real good. I made a half-hearted attempt at Christmas decor yesterday. May need to revisit! YAM xx
It woks as well as the furniture polish and is much cheaper.

John Laws was obviously wrong. Oils IS oils. Remember the ad where he said they weren't?
ReplyDeleteLooks good.
And the decorating puts me to shame.
John Laws is still going I heard him the other day he must be a million years old, I was surprised he is not as angry as he was guess we all get old, I guess he was wrong about the oils too.
DeleteMerle.................
John Laws is still going??? I am truly surprised.
DeleteI think he is on a break now, last year he had a long break at christmas and he wasn't sure if he was coming back to the radio.
DeleteMerle...............
Wow ... How good is that! Wonder if it would work outside. Our jetty needs some serious oiling. The Christmas tree looks great. I must get onto putting ours up.
ReplyDeleteYou could try it, decking oil is expensive and cooking oil very cheap so no harm done if it doesn't work.
DeleteMerle............
I would have never thought to use olive oil spray as a polish, wouldn't it would dry sticky? It does look great. I like your tree. Spray the star with some gold paint? Dip it in glitter?
ReplyDeleteYou spray it on then rub it in it is not sticky at all but our floors in the lounge room and dining room are not polished the rest of the house is, I think our floor polishers went broke half way into the job as I remember.
DeleteI could give the star a bit of a spruce up maybe net year.
Merle........
Hello, looks like the oil did a great job. Your Christmas tree is pretty. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt did a good job, not sure how long it will last.
DeleteMerle........
Your tree is beautiful, and so is the star.
ReplyDeleteYou are very positive that is always good.
DeleteMerle..........
I love the look! And your tree is cute! You don't need a flashy star. Too many flashing things are distracting anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou could be right about that.
DeleteMerle...........
I'm going to try the olive oil spray, thanks for the tip! Your Christmas tree looks lovely and bright.I put out my tabletop tree and angel yesterday just a little Christmas cheer.
ReplyDeleteLet me know how it goes.
DeleteMerle...........l
Wow, what a lovely transformation to your floor! I need to polish ours floor....maybe soon {{smiles}}
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas tree is simply beautiful. Hugs!
It did look good in the lounge room but in the bathroom showed up all the water marks.
DeleteMerle..............
Well the oil has done a fine job, I would have never thought of using it :)
ReplyDeleteI
think your tree is very pretty, you are well ahead of me, I'm still thinking about it !
Hugs,
~Jo
I was early this year because I'm off to my daughters for a while to help with the twins.
DeleteMerle................
Your tree looks fabulous. Mine is still in the closet.
ReplyDeleteNo good in the closet.
DeleteMerle...........
Merle, I can't believe that olive oil cooking spray works so good on your furniture and floors. Wow, they look great. I'm wondering if it's slippery when walking on? Your Christmas tree is so pretty. I like the gold garland. You're getting into the Christmas spirit, Merle. :)
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
You must rub it in well or it will be slippery.
DeleteMerle........
Your tables and floors look good Merle, never thought of using olive oil, i just use it for cooking..
ReplyDeleteYour tree is pretty, haven't put ours up as yet.
I've used it for odd things before and I've checked out some of the cleaning sites that tell you what to use instead of all the chemicals not so much sinus now as I once had.
DeleteMerle...............
.. everything is looking great Merle... love your tree.. are the stockings for the twins ??? xxxxxx... Love to all.. Barb xxxx
ReplyDeleteWell maybe but they are still to small but next year will be grand.
DeleteMerle...............
That's a great tip, Merle. The table and floor really do look nice! I am going to try it - the cost of furniture polish is outrageous these days. Your tree is so sparkly! It's a special Christmas this year with the new babies. xx Karen
ReplyDeleteVery Special.
