Household hints and my christmas tree.

I ran out of furniture polish so guess what I have some Olive Oil cooking spray I don't often use so that is my new furniture polish.
My coffee tables look better than they normally do.

 So I tried the floor
 This is before
This is after who knows how long it will last but it has no smell which is good.
My christmas tree not big but it is pretty.
And it has a very dull star on top.

Mum used to use linseed oil on all her furniture, so I guess olive will do!!! Looks real good. I made a half-hearted attempt at Christmas decor yesterday. May need to revisit! YAM xx

  2. John Laws was obviously wrong. Oils IS oils. Remember the ad where he said they weren't?
    Looks good.
And the decorating puts me to shame.

    1. John Laws is still going I heard him the other day he must be a million years old, I was surprised he is not as angry as he was guess we all get old, I guess he was wrong about the oils too.

  3. Wow ... How good is that! Wonder if it would work outside. Our jetty needs some serious oiling. The Christmas tree looks great. I must get onto putting ours up.

    1. You could try it, decking oil is expensive and cooking oil very cheap so no harm done if it doesn't work.

  4. I would have never thought to use olive oil spray as a polish, wouldn't it would dry sticky? It does look great. I like your tree. Spray the star with some gold paint? Dip it in glitter?

    1. You spray it on then rub it in it is not sticky at all but our floors in the lounge room and dining room are not polished the rest of the house is, I think our floor polishers went broke half way into the job as I remember.
I could give the star a bit of a spruce up maybe net year.

  7. I love the look! And your tree is cute! You don't need a flashy star. Too many flashing things are distracting anyway.

  12. Merle, I can't believe that olive oil cooking spray works so good on your furniture and floors. Wow, they look great. I'm wondering if it's slippery when walking on? Your Christmas tree is so pretty. I like the gold garland. You're getting into the Christmas spirit, Merle. :)

    1. I've used it for odd things before and I've checked out some of the cleaning sites that tell you what to use instead of all the chemicals not so much sinus now as I once had.

  15. That's a great tip, Merle. The table and floor really do look nice! I am going to try it - the cost of furniture polish is outrageous these days. Your tree is so sparkly! It's a special Christmas this year with the new babies. xx Karen
