Last week was a bit busy.

This guy has moved into my wood pile but didn't last long my cats killed him and left him in the lounge room the other night but at least he was dead not like the mouse.

The other day I went shopping in Parramatta, lots of changes happening there.
This is the 90 story building that is go up, there has been talk about it for a few years now but it's started now.

Other buildings all over the place cranes everywhere.
The old church is still there and the park around it.
and all the trees
but Parramatta has changed a lot in my life time.
When we were kids my sister and I would sometime go shopping with mum and the highest building was 3 stories high it was the only big department store there and it had a cafe, to eat out in those days was a treat now their are lots of places it's hard to make up your mind what to have.
We all got together my son and daughter in law were visiting from QLD so my daughter and her fellow came over for dinner, just some silly snaps of everyone but me.

Sleepy times the chicken was very nice .
I had a mark on my coffee table from a hot thing  this will disappear in a few weeks you put lots of polish on it cover it and it returns to its normal colour or that's what has happened in the past.

I moved Pidges water bowl, well how dare I he was not happy but decided in the end moved water was better than no water

The children leaving in there bright orange car, do you know how rare orange cars are.
We counted yellow cars for a week once there was under the hundred and there was six people doing it in different areas, there are more yellow ones than orange.

  1. You have been busy. Very busy.
I can remember himself bad-mouthing our cats because there was a mouse in the house. They heard him. When he was getting dressed for work the next morning a mouse head rolled out of his shoe. Served him right.

  2. Hello, That is the one things I love about cats, they get rid of the rodents. Looks like the kids do not like their photos taken, I am the same way. The orange car is pretty. Pidge is picky about where his water is located? He is cute. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

  3. Crikey Merle ... Mum can't believe they are building a 90 story building in Parramatta. She remembers it from the old days too. She once played netball against a team from the Girls home there. She said it was terrifying. They were tough girls. I suppose they had to be to survive in that place. It's all coming out now, aye? Parramatta was lovely in those days. I hope it still is.
Family is great, aye? Looks like it was a fun visit.. I killed a mouse once. I'm as good as any cat. I don't part with my kills though. I eat 'em.

    1. Parramatta is very different to what it was years ago, I live at Granville that's next door to Parramatta now that's a place that hasn't changed much at all in the last 30years.
The parramatta girls home has been closed for a fair while now, I've heard stories that there will be a development on that site in the future so many blocks of units going up everywhere in Sydney.
Good for you I wish my cats would eat them too.

    2. Goodness Merle ..... I haven't been to Granville for years. I spent a lot of time there when I was young. My best friend lived there. In Clarke Street. We played basketball together for Auburn basketball club. Has it really not changed much??

    3. I lived in Fairfield for my first 18 years and Granville is very much the same as it was then.

    1. We are in Australia's biggest city but we are almost 30 klms away from the CBD and only 3 floors were common when we moved here but now the sky is the limit but it must stop soon or we will have a glut of units.

  6. Wild car colors are the norm here.Orange, yellow, turquoise, purple (not sedate purple!)--I should put a child to counting the colors.

  7. Lovely to have all your family together. We had dinner at the Bavarian bier cafe in Parramatta when we were there a couple of weeks ago, it's in a beautiful converted old church building. I really hope the powers that be are keeping most of the heritage buildings in the rush to put up new towers. I really like your orange patterned blog and your kids orange car too!

  11. Looks like a nice family gathering.
I remember the Paramatta church, we stopped there one day to show the kids, we were on our way back to Glenfield from the city, I think we stopped to eat.
I remember orange cars, it's not a popular colour anymore. Do you remember years ago, early 70s with all the orange Toyota 180B's?

    1. I remember lots of colourful cars of the 60's and 70's, some were painted by the owners with flowers and other things, we owned a panel van that was white with red lattice painted on it was stunning .

  14. Hi Merle, I had an orange car once, back in the late 70's! It was a popular color then....:) Nice to have the kids over for a visit - looks like you all had a good time. Wish my cats would get the mice, but they are too old now. Pidge looks so pretty on his water dish. Glad the old church and trees are still there. Everything is always changing. Hope you have a good weekend! x K

    1. My cats often don't catch the mice and they often lose them in the house when they are still alive, that is not so good.
I glad they have protected the older buildings these developers will pull everything down if they can get a profit.
      Merle...........
