Twilight at Taronga.

We are off to meet our daughter and her fellow for a concert at  Taronga Zoo at sunset.
I was trying to take the clouds they looked very grey and a bit fierce but nothing much happened, didn't notice the street art don't think much of it and wish it wasn't everywhere  you looked.
The bridge and this huge liner in port but it left soon after and we watched it sail out to sea.

The great white sails always grab my attention.
It is a wonderful building, these shot were taken from the ferry on the way to the Zoo.

More harbour foreshore, and the navy boats.
The only part of the zoo I saw.
And of course someone had to stick his head in, notice he chose a sheep, I'm not saying a word.

I was trying to take a picture of the sunset, this was a dancer, she really enjoyed the whole concert.

The stage, lots of people there all very well behaved I might add.
It was a lovely concert a aboriginal singer and music,  folk singers and a rock band something for most people, I didn't know any of the songs but it all very well sung and opened up new music to me.
The beer fairy was happy he chatted to everyone but he always does that one thing he is, is very friendly.

I liked this blue light on the trees.

This was the closing number but the blue lights didn't come out too well.

Going back on the ferry I got this picture of Luna  park.

Next week must get stuck into the new bathroom.
I have all the shower stuff but now need a plumber, plenty around but boy do they know how to charge.
Pulling things out slowly will let you know how it all goes.

  1. I see on the news tonight Sydney is having the same storms as Adelaide, I hope you are all okay.
I like the night photo of the bridge and Luna park, the lights are pretty.
Make sure the plumber you choose is certified, don't want a dodgy bathroom.

  2. What great photos and it sounds like a really enjoyable night out. As I think, even if you don't go out at night often, when you do, you can have a great time. Bathroom......expensive.

    1. As long as it's all working by winter, I happy with a wash and I can hose down the beer fairy as long as it's hot.

    1. The ferry ride is only 15mts so I was happy with that and lovely and smooth, I get sea sick with even little waves.
I heard lots of stories about bathroom problems after renovating hope mine goes well too.

    1. It's a grand building, they raised the money to build it by a lottery, the opera house lottery I remember it well.

  9. Crikey Merle ..... Dad's not here at the moment but I'll ask him if he knows a good plumber. He's a builder and has lots of tradey mates in Sydney. All the tradey's are expensive these days. You went to the ZOO for a concert? Lucky you!!

  12. You have so many interesting things to see and so many things to do. I would have loved to be there and listen to the music.
You two are just constantly delving into new projects. Better slow down or you'll soon be out of projects..... but as I look at my house, I guess one never runs out.

    1. No, houses always need something done to them and ours is a old one so there are more things wearing out.

    1. I surpose owning a house always gives you something to do worse when the house is getting old ours is nearly 100 years old.

  14. Oh how I love Sydney Harbour and the beautiful Opera House. It never fails to delight. Isn't Taronga Zoo the best place. How wonderful to be able to enjoy a concert there. I always think the giraffes have the best view. Good luck with the bathroom. It should be wonderful when finished; you won't know yourselves.

    1. I love the harbour on a mild summer's day but don't often see it at dusk or night time.
I guess giraffes would have a pretty good view anywhere.
We must get a plumber now that might take a while.
