Lots of rain, a few floods and it's the middle of summer.

Derrick had fun with his food bowl, it is no more, he managed to chew the wire out of the plastic bowl so it is now a toy as it no longer sits on the side of the cage .
My health is crappy so far this year lots of aches and pains, but have got over the shingles my jaw is sore and my eye red and my big toe on my left foot has lost it nail well half of it so not feeling myself at the moment, lets hope it all improves.
fun to play with.

We've had a cold snap and lots of rain over the last week. I had a visit from my friend Barbara for a few days but it just poured rain so we sat around and crocheted a really good catch up but this is the middle of our summer you would never know.
The fan in the lounge room  hasn't been turned on at all .

This is Derricks new cage until the big one is built the rain stopped all work on that, next week.

The garden is gone a bit crazy look lemons on my new tree.

lots of baby tomatoes but need a few hot days to ripen them.
Angus is visiting for a few days lost in the back garden.
 Oh look there he is
 And along comes Drummy.
Not many flowers this year, the weather is just a bit crazy so most things are confused, me too.
 But lots of green areas.

Even growing in the backyard burner.
Painted up my small table base, will paint the grapes and leaves soon.

My dragon[ it was once someones else] but now he is mine, he is surposed to keep the cats off the visitors bed but it never works.

SNACK TIME Toffee yogurt, I'm very fond of it and Angus is doing the washing up.
 A nice cool water .
and off exploring again, ahh to be a dog, life is just full of lovely smells.
I think a new cover for my rocking chair this one is a bit hot in summer.

  2. Sorry to hear you are not feeling the best. The shingles are horrible. Things look like they are flowering out all over. We will be below zero tonight. Try to enjoy your summer!

  3. Nice to see Drummy making an appearance. How does he get along with Derrick? Probably ignores him.

  5. Nice to see all the green and some flowers, Merle. Sorry you are under the weather - dampness always makes me ache, which means around here, I am aching all the time :) You have the perfect paradise for Angus to explore. Derrick is going to love having a bigger home. My cockatiel loves chewing branches and paper. Seems every book I have has at least one nibble taken out of it. Your crochet is pretty. x Karen

  6. I love the tiny baby lemon! Derrick certainly looks happy, I'm sure he is going to enjoy the big cage once it is finished.
Nice to see Drummy and Angus wandering about too. I think rain in summer is a lovely thing, until it stops and the weather turns all sticky, muggy.
I think the aching and pains are part of the shingles and will get better over time.

    1. I've had tiny lemons before but they always fall off on my other lemon tree, this one I'm looking after very well.
Tonight is so muggy, tomorrow super hot then a cool change I can't wait.
Shingles are a long time thing and
      very painful things.

  7. Aches and pains? I am so sorry.
We have had a little rain. And much heat. Not as bad as Adelaide and Melbourne, but way too hot for my wimpy self.
    Love your garden as always.
My father built a HUGE cage for a sulphur crested cockatoo. He ate his way out (chewed through the four by two) and spent the rest of his days stumping around the garden. Derrick looks like he has settled in really well.

Funny Drummy is not afraid of dogs, she runs at them but you might be just a bit to big for her.

  9. So sorry you've been unwell. I've been chalking up your lack of blogging to big-time travels about Oz. I do hope you feel a bit better soon. Here it's quite cold so I'm getting a few aches and pains I don't normally get myself. Getting old stinks!

...well, on one hand I am glad that I can point here for proof that my complaints re OZ weather have not been imaginary (!)... on the other hand, I feel for you, not getting any decent summer... at least it got productive when Barbara was there! Derrick is looking happy - and who wouldn't, having landed on one's feathers in such a great home?!! Hope all the body bits heal up pronto. YAM xx

You always have a lovely garden!! A garden made for a chicken!! Bet she fins lots of goodies!!!
I use a heating pad when I watch the news at night!!
