A walk to the dentist.

On the way to the dentist the other day I came across this shrub it was very pretty and I've never seen one quite like it, it's a Australian native but I don't know what it's called.

But this is a street tree not very impressive but when in flower it lovely and the perfume is heavenly.
If any one knows the names of these plants I would like to know as they like the area and that always helps, well I'm at the dentists now I know I will end up with a sore mouth and a hole in my pocket for them to pull the money out.

  1. I don't know the second but think the first belongs to the Isopogen family. This link takes you to more information about them.

Yes, EC's one the mark with isopogon; though I have not seen that variety before - lovely!
Think the tree may be a variety of the Lilac family... I can almost smell it from here!!! YAM xx

  8. Oh my, the shrub with the red blooms is stunning and quite unique. At least you were able to enjoy some beauty before you went to the dentist {{smiles}} I'm not big on dentist visits.

    Hugs to you, dear Merle!

  9. Not sure but the street tree might be a lemon scented myrtle , they're in flower now in the bush around us. Gorgeous flower pics. Cheers, Cheryl.

  10. The pink shrub looks like it might be a pincushion hakea, the white tree might be white lilac.
I was at the dentist a lot last month, have almost no money left at all, but have six lovely new front teeth.

  11. Aha! I was wrong, NOT a pincushion hakea.

  12. Both are nice but I don't recall seeing either before. Aren't lilacs deciduous?

  13. Both are really lovely. I must ask the expert if he knows what the first flower is...
