A few days out and about.

DAVID JONES have a flower show every year have done for years but never been before didn't even know they had it.  It was quite lovely Barbara and I attended this year.
This was on the walk up to the flowers show, looked like a rope wall but it's made of cement pretty striking just a little bit different.

Wonderful arrangements of flowers in the store itself.

These were taken through the window a lot of reflection but still very pretty.

Just a tree in Hyde park.

We went for a walk around town, they changed the sign outside of where I once worked.
I like these fellows beards bet they took a while to grow.
spooky long hall in the QVB
and strange little door with a rail over it wonder where it goes
Lift and arch

Other bits of the QVB building it's a wonderful place.

We had lunch with the birds before heading off home.

back to Barbs place for coffee and a chat.
Then on to visit my daughter, her partner and Angus.
He had a bath the next morning as it was a warm and sunny day it takes him all day to dry.

So here he is saying goodbye, time for me to go home now.

    1. The Christmas tree is always worth a visit, I always go visit the QVB when in town, it once was a hardware shop Knock And Kirby's years ago before it was done up, I can only just remember going there as a little girl with my mum.

  3. That was quite the day with all those gorgeous splashes of color. In the 5th photo there is a round low pot on the floor, R corner, with red flowers. I buy some that certainly do look like that every summer for the garden pots. It's an annual but I don't know the name. Do you? They are wonderful as they keep blooming all summer.
    Thanks for the tour.

  5. LOVE the stained glass behind those arches. All the flower displays are very pretty too, I particularly like the wattle in the window. Nice to walk around Sydney with you and Barbara.

    1. I've always loved the stained glass in the QVB, I worked just down the road so walked past there most days, often went in for a quick look around.

  6. I remember being intrigued by many odd things in QV, like stair cases that go nowhere. Our DJs used to have a flower show but I don't know if they do it any more. There is much renovation happening in our store. Can Angus have a haircut? His fur looks so thick and hot.

    1. When they redid the QVB there was a heritage order on it so a lot of things couldn't be changed so I think that's why there are odd bits.
Angus hair falls out in spring and summer very slowly so the coat is not so thick and he is always kind of fluffy after a bath.

  9. WHOA. If you had not posted the pic in context near PEOPLE, I would have thought these arrangements to be much, much smaller. These are amazing!

    1. They are quite big and the ones on the windows are bigger still but there are no people in there.

  12. It looks like you had a nice time at the flower show. What interesting flowers these are, and have never seen some of them before. That picture of the bed of purple flowers is so pretty. I love the tree in Hyde park - it looks very old. And some lovely designs in this grand building.

Have a good week ahead, Merle.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. You don't see a lot of these flowers every day but there are common ones too, they all go well together, I think the tree in Hyde part is a fig, they are huge trees.
