Playing with my camera in the garden and the finished power pole.

I been busy planting out most of my broms I still have more to go but the weather is turning after lunch so I will stop now and take pictures before the rain sets in, if it happens it just looks to good at the moment I can't believe that we are having rain.
My pebble lawn, since I got rid of my lawn about 8 years ago I have very little weeding, no grass seeds to spread around.
 My sundial

I've learnt where the close up button is so I can now zoom in
 isn't that exciting.

The little red fellow had a hard night on the turps so he is a bit wonky this morning
The ducks are always amused at the little garden nomes antics
Mal was watching what I was doing, she looks very worried about something.

These guys turned up this morning to finish the job started about 12 months ago, they done our power so this time there is no interruption to our power, this time they are doing the phase 3 power.
Do you think they are discussing world politics or what they watched on tele last night but they did finish the job so I'm not complaining.
Here are my broms all planted out.

Remember the herb bath well the bath is slowly being overgrown, some of the herbs died after a couple of months but these are going well, my basil reshot.
One flower that's all I've got at the moment., I still have the plastic ones they give the garden some colour in the winter and stop Drummy from eating flowers well she doesn't eat so many.
While I poped over to woolies to pick up some bits and pieces they finished the job and left some advertising on the new pole, I was so temped to write a note on the bottom 'BUT WILL THE JOBS BE DONE FASTER' as this has taken a year to complete but you know what they say " better the devil you know".

M y fern are looking ok
But this poor fellow was sat on I think by Drummy or one of the cats looks a bit flat.

And this is the little lady herself I sit down for 5 mts and she comes and pecks my legs, we thought she did it for salt but I've got long pants, shoes and socks and she is still doing it, does anyone know why hens do that, maybe she is kissing me.

  1. Thanks for the garden tour, Merle - I very much enjoyed it! So peaceful and everything so neat with nice pathways and comfortable seating. You have been busy - your broms look good all planted. I don't know why animals like to sit right on top of our favorite plants.....must be comfy, I suppose. Nice to see your gnomes are still partying the night away and glad you didn't lose electric while the 'boys' commiserated up on the lifts. Funny about your little hen pecking your legs - perhaps a love peck? It's nice to get those once in a while....Have a good week -xo Karen

  3. Your garden is so interesting. Everywhere you turn there is something different to see. I love it. I like the stack of tiles for the ducks to sit on, I might use that idea myself one day.

Fabby tour as always, Merle - love Mal sitting pretty and your blue chairs look so welcoming! Interesting the blokes themselves left propaganda... wonder if that is a union initiative? Word to the wise; here in UK I have had to deal with a dreadful maze of private power suppliers, there is no Gov't owned option now and it was the biggest nightmare and stress ever. Some things just should NOT be commercialised. Hey ho.

...and what's this... are you being hen pecked? &*<> YAM xx

    1. We din't have any say in the sell off of our power but we have solar and have a agreement with the power company or government for a rebate this might end it will cost us a lot more for power.
For the first time in my life I'm being henpecked big time.

  11. Oh wow. DO you go out and buy bunches of stuff between photo shoots in the garden? There is a ton of new stuff EVERY TIME! I'm either inattentive or just didn't see it from that angle before.

Always, your garden is lovely. :)

    1. Very rarely buy plants, they are so expensive and often die so I get lots of cuttings and do move things around a lot for a different look.

  12. I'm glad you found the "zoom" button! It sure does make a difference doesn't it! That's funny about the workers for the electrical lines. We have the same things go on here and always wonder what it is they do that seems to take so long! They are in our area working and we lost power a few days ago. I hope they'll be gone soon. Your outdoor garden space looks like a nice retreat!

    1. The zoom button is wonderful, I'm going to have so much fun with it.
It only took 12 months to have the pole replaced and the pow all hooked up only a small interruption to our power but the power was white ant infected so we all wonder if they killed the white ants.

  17. enjoyed looking over several posts Merle; no idea why your hen pecks your legs, is it to get attention, more food from you? I noted the coleus in your garden; I love those and the differing colours/markings you can get. Another is the Freckle Plant that is nice for those good light but not sunny spots too
