The day in our neighbourhood

This is Granville up close and personal.
And you know this bloke and the other fellow is my neighbour, and the owner of Granville and Buckwheat (his dogs).
The house on the corner is growing it two story which is unusual around here most of the houses are single story that was all you could build years ago but Sydney is running out of room and they allow bigger houses and more stories now.
Angus and Drumstick are having a little chat with us watching.
Angus is not that keen

Now they are checking out Drummies veg and grass area

They both have found something to eat , there were some carrots in there somewhere.
Later when Angus was eating his pigs ear, Drumstick wanted a bit and it was a bit hairy for a minute so I put dummy in his yard and nothing hurt but a few ruffled feathers, Angus is very mild except where food is involved.

Back to the house on the corner, no one around all off to lunch.

Next door is finishing off, doing all the driveway and front paths.
My front yard is a jungle compared with everyone else, they are all doing some sort of renovating but i do need to do some trimming and weeding.

My new painting not got very far yet.

  2. Ah Angus, tell Nan you are a very good boy! I doubt Mac would sit near a chicken (without tasting a drumstick or two if you know what I mean!).

    1. It will improve the house prices in the neighbourhood but in Sydney everywhere they are crazy and we have no planes in selling but it's fun to watch a new house being built.

  4. Another set of interesting photos. I like the framed cat photos. As for owner's looking like their dogs, I can see a resemblance with your neighbour and his dog.

  6. Your coleus has flowered! I've never seen one flower before, it's so pretty. I like the clouds on your new painting too. The driveway and path on the new house look good, nice they've matched the brick colour.

  8. Lots of new construction in your neighborhood - it can get a bit noisy, can't it? My neighbor used a generator for electricity when he first started his home and it was not fun listening to that at 7 in the morning, then bang, bang, bang all day long. Looks like a nice, big house, though. Dogs are funny - they all have their personalities. I like the framed cat photos and the start to your painting. xo karen

    1. The builders around here work one day then have two off or go somewhere else and do another job so that's not so bad gives you a bit of a break.

  11. Hello Merle....Oh, I do think Granville would scare the bazookers out of me. Guess I'm a bit afraid of big doggies!

Looks like the neighborhood is expanding, too.

Love the clouds in your new painting. I'm sure the entire work of art will be beautiful because you are so talented. Susan

    1. It's a coleus and is easy to grow you just break a bit off put it in water for a few day then plant out but I don't think it would tolerate snow, it likes sun and heat.

  13. Thank you for the tour. The bloke next door must live in the house that has been newly rennovated. His dog, Granville is a dog admired by many but it's a dog I would not want as they are prone to slobbering. 2 of my 5 chickens are buff orphingtons and look similar to drumstick but drumstick's comb is higher. I've been told to get the chickens with shorter combs in our harsh climate. Were you a little tempted to write your name or do a handprint in the new cement?

    1. Funny you should say that but the workman were around all day so I didn't get a chance, what should I write if I can when they do the front path. Those dogs are like running taps and they are just too big for the city but he takes them for lots of walks so they are not so active when home.
We didn't buy Drumstick she just walked up the driveway and moved in so we figured she was not happy at her other place and went adventuring
and none of the neighbours were missing a chook.

    1. The two story house is three houses down and on the south side so will not bother us at all but his next door neighbour is very upset about it being built.
