A Japan black floor and I found the poo.

This is the floor finish in my son's place, It's japan black and now the skirting boards are now attached but  I was there the day before he did that.
We had a bit of disaster afternoon, he hit the light connection and the globe fell out but didn't break but the connection did so as soon as it was dark we had to go home as it was impossible to see and he cut the plaster board the wrong way and had to redo it, that was in the bath room he is just starting on that.

But that all I got on the renovations and it be a while before they are back to finish off, but most of the big jobs are finished now, inside anyway.
This is the inside of a dolls house I made my daughter many years ago it's in the front room where Ian [bo beep] stayed for a few days before he went to NZ now he didn't shut his door all the time and guess what one of the cats did a poo on that little green table now I have spent two days moving furniture and cleaning trying to find the smelly thing.
I should have taken a picture but I'm sure you seen one before.
 The bathroom
 The kitchen after a clean
 The lounge room

 The bedroom

  1. Love the dolls house. A treasure. A treasure defiled. Bless their rotten hearts. Sometimes I think they poo in out of the way places deliberately and sit back and laugh as we try and track it down.
    The renovations are looking good.

  8. I LOVE the doll's house! I would have played in that for hours each day if I'd had one like it.
I remember old homes having japanned floors when I was little. We'd go to visit someone for afternoon tea and the living room would have a carpet square in the middle and the floors around the edge were so shiny and black!
Then years later everyone started stripping floorboards to reveal the timber and now japanning is becoming popular again. It can look stunning, particularly with the right style of furniture but I personally don't like it.
If I was to have black floors they would be polished granite tiles like one of my daughters has.

    1. I prefer polished wood too but their floors were not a nice wood they did a test patch so they did the next best thing.

am liking the japanning...and the doll's house! Oh dear about the errors in handiwork - but oftentimes these things happen when folk are pushing beyond their physical limit. Well that's my story and am sticking to it &*> YAM xx

  19. Thanks so much for visiting Mr. J on my blog today! Those dark floors are beautiful! I lived with white painted (sub)floors for many years until we got our wood floors put in. They were horrible to try to keep clean! Have a great week!

  20. Oh, I enjoyed seeing all the rooms in the doll house, Merle. This post really hit home for me because the girls used to have a doll house that their grandpa made for them, and when they got older, I ended up giving it away, and I really wish I had kept it. I'm so glad you still have the one that you made for your daughter. What a treasure that must be for you.

    Have a great week ahead.

    love,
    ~Sheri

  21. Hi! My name is Daniel and I love your black floors. Good job. Did you us black stain or black paint? If so, can you please let me know what brand did you use. I would love to do this to my house. Thanks again. Cheers!

A first tooth for our little lady and eating out.

We are off and playing more and more on the floor. No teeth yet for Wilbur but Clemmy has one on the bottom. But impossible...
