It's been a busy couple of weeks and staying inside a lot more as the air outside is not the best at the moment.
This is the branch very much in the way you have to duck to get under it .
Also a lot of growth has stoped the sun
Going
almost gone
We have a gap now for the sun to shine through
We have also had many bush fires up the coast but the smoke has been invading Sydney
Usually you can see the blocks of flats at Auburn and the cranes but all wiped out by the smoke.
This tree out the front has just died maybe old age it's been here for a long time so it was cut down too
This is my driveway lots of work to shred it all
It only lasted for a few hours
But I was surprised as we are some distance away from the actual fires.
As it set behind my house
Those reflections are amazing - and horrifying. I hope the air clears soon, and that the fires are over. I really hope for that.
ReplyDeleteIt was strange it only happened the one afternoon, we have had a bit of rain and wind so the skies are now clear.

ReplyDeleteThat smoke can create the most amazing, stunning and yet fearsome effects - well caught as shadow and light my friend! Well done to the BF for the clearance. YAM xx
Yes the beer fairy was busy for a few days needed the rest of the week to get over it but i didn't do much as breathing was rather hard, with the smoke.

The reflections are incredible and somewhat frightening. I hope the air has cleared now and what a lot of work you have done in the garden, with now some hard work for the shredder.
ReplyDeleteDriveway all clear now worked with the shredder for a day or two.

Goodness me … those reflections are astonishing and quite frightening!
ReplyDeleteI just hope the air clears soon, and that the fires are over.
At the moment, here in the UK, we are having a lot of rain … I wish I could send some over to you.
Do take care.
All the best Jan
We got a bit of rain the the last couple of days but we are on the coast inland is where it's needed towns are running out of water and it just a dry dust bowl at the moment.
DeleteMerle...........
Well that didn't work have you noticed that sometimes comments just disappear somewhere and sometimes they come back we will wait and see.
DeleteMerle..................
There it is back again.....
DeleteThose shadows and reflections are frightening. Take care, you two. Wg=hat a lot of yard work cleaning up from cutting back brush.
ReplyDeleteMore to do yet, the top garden is rather overgrown, but in a week or two.

I've been seeing the fires and the smoke on TV. We've had the same here, smoky air from the fires in the Yorke Peninsula, the winds blew the smoke all this way, but it didn't last long. Your garden will appreciate the extra sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a mild smoke haze but much easier to breath now.
DeleteMerle.....
oh i am sorry that your area is facing bush fires dear Merle
ReplyDeletehope it is is harmful for people around and for you as you said it is close to your residence ?
i loved the views from your yard ,cutting the tree down to have enough sunlight is necessary indeed ,reflection of sunlight through smoke are so beautiful ,very nicely captured
i like your setting of sitting area in your yard :)
wishing you safe happy days ahead
We are not really close to the fires but still are getting the fallout.

Sunshine to the backyard with out the trees, sometimes trees have to be trimmed or cut down. Being safe is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine all the smoke and dust from the fires - we en counted raised dust when we were up north in winter.
It's very dry up here mainly out west the beer fairies family live in the central west and often get photos on facebook of the dust storms they have glad I don't live there.

We have been staying inside a lot too. Yesterday we watched the smoke rising from a bushfire in the Barrington Tops.Your photos of the relections and the sky are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe reflections were only there one day never seen them before or since so the are a bit different.

Those forest fires have been devastating. We usually don't get a whole lot of Australian coverage here, but recently we have been receiving a steady stream of updates on the fire situation. Fortunately it seems to be subsiding a little now, but it is still only spring and I am sure everyone is nervous for the hot temperatures of the summer and what that might entail.
ReplyDelete… so glad the branch and tree are gone... you'll be able to enjoy the yard again .. xxxx .. the smoke is awful .. xxxx
