They have overdone the rain and I've started painting again.

We had had rain, violent storms with hail and lots of wind  cracked some of the branches off the jackerander tree, there was vines growing all over it so they came down too now a big mess to clean up.

Just finishing up and more storms.

I didn't go outside lots of rain and hail bigger than I have seen in Sydney before, so I stayed behind the window and watched this was the best I could do with taking a picture.
I have rejoined the local art society and they have a gallery and competitions so I'm going to put this one in, only thing is it must be framed so I will have to get it done by some one who knows what they are doing my effort is not so good.

This is a new one but maybe will put it in the corner for a bit not sure what to do next.
This one took about 2 hours to paint it all turned out right but it's not very big
You have to put prices on them and they try and sell them for you I have no idea where to start any ideas would be helpful.

  1. Love your painting - but have no idea what prices you should charge.
You have had a heap of rain and hail. We are mostly just getting dribbles.

  2. I have no idea what prices to put on things, maybe have someone from the art society have a look and suggest some prices. Your work is lovely. I love the beach scene especially.

Your framing cost needs to be factored in as well as the cost of canvas and paints. After that, you decide what your per hour time is worth to you for creativity (for exampe, in my writing I think in terms of a penny a word and manage about a thousand words per hour = ten quid) So let's say you worked on $20/hr and you average four hours per painting, that's $80 + costs. I purchase quite a lot of amateur art and the cheapest item I have ever bought is a small yellow cow A4 without frame at $175... However, that all said, you ought to discuss with others in your new group (well done on joining BTW - you are good) what experience they have of pricing and selling at these gigs. Am so glad you are taking this step at last!!! YAM xx

  5. The last painting is just wonderful, well it is also third last. I would suggest $200. The cows in the river is not bad, say $120.

  7. I do love your painting especially the seascape. I agree that the cost of each picture could include your hourly rate for time taken to complete as well as the cost of framing.

    1. Not taken to much notice of how much time it has taken for each to paint and if the are on block the do not have to be framed so that will make a difference to the price.
